You can get drinks if
1) you look old enough,
2) you present reasonable justification of age
If they get enough reason to take a chance serving you, they will be vigilant in observing your ability to 'handle your liqour'. You will NOT be served if you prove to be someone who doesnt know how to 'drink responsibly'.
The bartender can get fired for serving an underaged drinker (even if they dont get sued). |

well this may saound bad, but for the most parts of jamaica you can send a five year old to the shop to get a $50 bag a weed and a beer and no one asks questions. yeah i know that sounds bad.
but as for the hotels and upscaled areas it may be different but not to the point where you'll have a problem, my point is teen drinking is the least of our problems here so heck we dont sweat the small stuff. DRINK RESPONSIBLY. |

I don't know about Jamaica since I've never been..
But I've been going to Dominican Republic for years, and never been asked for ID to drink... Not at the hotel, neither at local clubs/
I've seen people as young as 13 years old have a little drink so it gives you an idea... It's the carribean, they're usually not strict about that king of stuff!
Have a good vacation but drink responsably! |

You will not be allowed to drink alcoholic beverages from the hotel. Maybe you could pass as an adult and get away with it if you seem mature... but that does not mean it is right. Presenting an ID would certainly be an over-the-top way and since you are now required to have a passport to enter Jamaica, most hotels and bars would prefer seeing your passport than any other document to verify that u r of drinking age... and it does say you are 16... what r u doing with booze anyway?
Bartenders at these top hotels are very careful so don't try anything. You may just end up embarrassing yourself. You will NOT get a drink if you look like a kid. |

Not sure how old the people that've previously answered this question are, but it seems that some dont know from personal experience. I've NEVER, EVER been asked for I.D. in negril, and including Riu. To answer your question, you'll be able to drink no problem. |

"NO Problem" , Jamaican's favourite words. I don't personally think it's a problem, as a matter of fact, do they ask for IDs? Never encounter these things.... I don't know |
