It depends on when you are trying to go. If you are trying to go within the next couple of months buy now. Usually 2-3 months prior to your trip is a good range. There actually is a low season in the Caribbean and that is summer and spring. Hotels and airfare are much cheaper at that time than in the winter. Also if you have your dates set keep looking for sales, and buy when you find a price that is good for you. I last went to PR in May and paid under $300. I monitored prices and jumped on it when I saw a good deal.

THE BEST TIME IS IN SUMMER AND WINTER. THE WINTER HERE ARE THE SAME CLIMATE.

Best time to go is in the month of July and August, because it a little bit more warmer and the sun is a lot hotter. Also not many tourist go during these months and all Hotel give bigger discounts, example try booking a room at the Conquistador in Fajardo, PR regularly 350 and up any time but in July and August about 200 a night. Try booking your flight from spirit airline the catch is to join their 9 dollar club, I gotticketss in March and August for 9 dollars per person each way. Sign up and check your email for the discount, well worth it if you find a flight from your city.

Puerto Rico is just like any other Tropical Island ...there's no Low Season...
Try to Avoid the Summer months and the Major Holidays.
