Christopher Columbus working for Spain discovered us back in 1493 and Spain colonized the island a few years later with Juan Ponce de Leon. He had the natives Tainos slaved and later killer when they sublevated. Spain replaced the tainos with slaves from Africa. The spaniards and other europeans came to the island and mixed with the tainos and later with the african slaves and formed our people : Puertorricans.
The USA took PR from Spain after a war between them in 1898. After more than 100 years we should recognize our mix with american blood also.

In 1898 americans come to Puerto Rico to get a war with Spaniards to stay with Puerto Rico and they said supposedly that they come to restore Puerto Rico and another things... but thats a bull of ****.
