I wasn't informed about that. Therefore, I clicked in there.
The same old story of the same old days. The system smiling and presenting a nice image for the outside. The wolf dressed as sheep
Hum, here we go again. Non Cubans ( or so they say ) supporting the attempts of the regime. Why people don't dedicate their time to take care of their own country instead of getting into the neighbor's house to criticize what the neighbor is doing IN HIS HOME ?
It says in that website ( first article I found ) that protestant pastors deny the statements of being repressed to practice their faith in Cuba.
Fantastic !
They should tell that to the Jehovah witnesses that in Cuba if they are not in jail, the State Security is looking for them .
In the 1960s there were created the UMAPs, labor camps for "undesirable elements", namely: priests, Jehovah witnesses, gays.
The religious repression in Cuba is permanent, but sometimes, depending on the circumstances, it becomes more subtle. Certain protestant groups are just considered by the State as "less dangerous" and allow them more space. Ask the Jehovah witnesses who come from Cuba for more trustworthy information
Ha ! If that thing is neutral and non political, then I am Pierre Trudeau |

I just took a look at it. It seems to be a website that pretends to give an image of normality to the Cuban regime. I didn't see any criticisms towards the brothers.
Nothing new so far, except that now they are doing it on the Internet |

Der Schreckliche

It seems to be something new. I just entered there. According to what I saw, it is one of the many numerous attempts of the comunist regime to present themselves with a pretty face and a nice image
But they fool only those that adore the system and sympathize with fidel, providing their support to this act of propaganda.
Sure, it is as non political as Das Kapital or Mein Kampf |

If you dig deeper you will see that they all work for the Cuban government therefore they are not independent. |

Well, I didn't know about it. I decided to see what it was about and it is another attempt of the brothers to make people believe ( NOW I understand the meaning of the expression "make believe" ) that they are a common, ordinary country. Nothing new really.
I am not surprised to see people that allegedly are not Cubans but nevertheless they provide their support to these efforts of the regime. It looks like many people outside of Cuba just love , adore, and admire fidel. They make no attempt to realize that he is just a brutal dictator.
What surprises me is that they pretend that us Cubans just smile and agree whenever they support the criminal that has oppressed our country for 50 years. That is exactly what the comunists in Cuba do.
Here, since they cannot beat us, kick us, shoot us, or put us in jail, instead they accuse us of whatever and they delete us.
It seems that they don't like what we say about our country and want that they agree with them in saying that fidel and the little brother are the Saviors of the Universe
How nice would it be if they just deal with the problems of their countries !
We Cubans never say anything about any other country but people take for granted that they can support the tyrant that oppresses ours and that we must smile and agree.
How sad |

I was reading it to get informed. It is just the same propaganda from the regimen. I imagine that they will present the newspaper Granma with interviews to fidel, raul, and others.
The reference to some of the top guys in cuba tries to give an appearance of cuba being the same as any other country.
The usual bunch of lies.
rsequin is totally right. What he says is absolutely true ! |

HAVANA TIMES is the publication that should have been around for a long time, presenting open-minded writing from Cuba, a country too often locked into a media tug-of-war of black-and-white stereotyped reporting. You can reach it at www.havanatimes.org |

I haven't seen this site. It's obviously newly set up as of a couple of days now.
It seems informative and neutral...not political. Many will find something negative to say about this site because they're hoping for more of a political bashing and down-trodden outlook.
The Updates page looks interesting as it gives information about the goings on of building, foreign relations, sports, etc.
Nice to see something even-keeled. |

It does seem very forth coming and not political. It is very interesting to read. |
