What's good about Hedonism resort in Jamaica?

Heard it's raunchy, no tv/radio, dangerous locals on the resort, stolen or tampered items in luggage.

Anyone ever been and know what it's like for real?

My husband and I have been to Hedo III twice. Nov 2005 and Oct 2006. We never had anything stolen or tampered with. The food was good. Our favorite was the omelet bar for breakfast and the Jerk Restaurant on the point (it used to be called the Scotch Bonnet but I think they changed the name) for our other meals. The Japanese Restaurant was good but wasn't impressed with the other one, French?, that we had to get reservations for. I never saw any "dangerous locals", what I did see were security guards on foot patrol around the edges of the resort. There is a nude side and a prude side and a clothing optional pool where both go. Yes, you can see about anything and yes, it can get raunchy but if you stick to the prude side you only get a watered down version of it. We didn't know that it was a swingers resort the first trip, I just booked a Super Club and thought they were about the same, had to have a guy at work tell me what Hedo was famous for. 2005 Hedo had overbooked because of a fetish convention and we were bumped to the Grand Lido Braco for 2 nights (that place is WOW) and got a voucher for 2 free nights at Hedo to be used in a year hence the 2006 trip. We are not a/n people or swingers but had a great time people watching. Had to practically drag my husband the first trip, the second he was more excited then me. Go with an open mind and you'll have a blast.

I agree Hedonism is not as bad as people say....its there if you want it but you can also get good food, good fun and good entertainment. Its not the best hotel but it rates pretty well in my books for a hotel offering a bit of everything.
Have been there four times and have never had a bad experience with anything.
But if you want quiet and a bit of class try Grand Lido.

Hedonism is an ADULT party place. The resorts can be wild or mild, depending on what the guest wants. The best place for information on the Hedo resorts is DennyP.com and the message board there. It is a site dedicated to those resorts.

Hedonism is full of old, fat people who are hoping a young couple makes the mistake of ending up there. It's really perverse, and I would really would stay away.

On a boat tour, the tour guide pointed out Hedonism and we got close enough to the shore to confirm this.

Hedo has become a victim of it's own success.

Originally is was a swingers kind of resort, but became so internationally known over the past 10-15 years, it's been attracting the bad element.

Most swingers go to Desire now.

The only reason someone would go to the Hedonism Resort is to get drunk, get naked, party, and possibly hook-up with a member of the opposite sex for some no-strings attached adult exercise/entertainment. That's the whole reason they built the resort in the first place. Not surprised to hear that they have problems with the locals coming in and stealing stuff. The other resorts on Jamaica have security guards that keep the locals out because they come in and steal and tamper with stuff. Read a review about the resort in Mens Health magazine that did not paint it in a good light. Apparently women get better deals than men, and since there are usually more men than women the guys are all competing for the girls (most of whom rate average at best in the looks department). No thanks, I'll pass.
