where to start:-
1. The people-interesting, never a dull moment. Always a story.
2. The culture-rich and diverse as your motto states"Out of many one people".
3. The landscape-absolutely beautiful and even though I have lived here all my life it still takes my breath away.
4. The rum- nothing like Jamaican rum to wash away stress and get a party started
5. the music- that speaks for itself
6. the food-jerk chicken/pork/lobster-ackee and saltfish, lychee, janga soup, roast breadfruit, rundown, beef patty etc.
7. the parties-man I am heading to one tonight and I know I am going to enjoy myself.
8. the way we bounce back after every adversity-eg hurricanes

There is so much more. I LOVE my country.

Jamaica is a very beautiful Island. The people are very friendly, kind, caring and respectful....for them everything is 'no problem'. Jamaica has long stretches of very nice beaches with lovely white sand. The weather is hot but lots of trees and warm beaches to cool u down....there are also wonderful raft sailing on the rio grande river in Portland. The lovely places like Ocho Rios and Montego Bay is more tourist orientated but the city of kingston has a real feel of Jamaican life. As it is the city you could say it is fast going and more developed with high buildings and more pollution but accomodates the office of the Prime Minister and also the Museum of the Reggae Legend Bob Marley. People living in kingston are mostly working class or seeking better life out of the inner city (poorer communities) or even out of the urban community. There is also the food.......oooh dear nothing like it anywhere else in this world....ackee and saltfish, roast saltfish roast yam, jerk chicken/pork, salt mackerel with green bananas, roast breadfruit, rice and peas with chicken. Then our lovely fruits like mangoes, eti oti apples, star apples jack fruit, papaya, maame naiseberry, sweet sop, sour sop, guineps, hog plums, june plums water jelly coconut, tambrin, jymbline. For desserts we enjoy a lovely cornmeal or sweet potato pudding coconut drops grated coconut cake and christmas cake with a whole lot of red lable wine and Jamaican white rum in it and lots of raisons and herbs and spices....oh my goodness...I could go on and on but experience will tell.....Overall I would say Jamaica is like Paradise on earth.

There is nothing good about Jamaica other then what the tourist see. The Country is filthy and disguisting. The Corporate Office for the Firm that I work for is located in Jamaica.Rude and arrogant is an understatement on the reaction to an American within their boundaries. I dispise being sent down and dread it every time that I am forced to go down there and show the same idiots the same procedure over and over again. Dense is an understatement!
