What's the best cruise line for a family vacation?

My first choice for a family cruise would definately be Disney. The activities for kids are great. You can drop them off and know they are safe so you can enjoy yourself. Most kids don't want to leave the kids areas because they have so much fun. The rooms are a little bigger than other cruise lines, which is so nice. They ships are cleaner than other lines, the food is really good, the shows are beautiful and the employees on board are unbelieveable. I think these are the best for families because they are directed at families, so everyone can have a great time. Youd won't find some of the stuff you find on other cruises that aren't appropriate for people with kids. Disney is one of my favorite cruise lines, whether or not you have kids. They are a knotch above the other lines. Here is link for more info: http://mousetrips.com/DCL.html

Carnival is another line for families. They have lots of activities for kids and are one of the least expensive lines to cruise with. A few things about this line. While they do have lots of activities for kids, they also attract college aged kids and adults on a small budget. There is a lot of partying, smoking, drinking, gambling, etc. that is going to be going on, so if you don't want your kids around this, you may want to reconsider. Also, Carnival, being the least expensive line, also tends to be a little less appealing. In my experience with this line the staff isn't as friendly and helpful, the rooms aren't as clean, the food isn't as good, etc. It is a nice line, but there are much better lines available if you can spend a little more money.

Royal Caribbean would probably be my next choice for you. They kind of fall between the price of Disney and Carnival. I've found the overall quality of the ships to be nicer than Carnival.

The only downside to Disney is there is less option as to where to go, but still it is great. It doesn't matter to me as much where I go as it does by which boat I get there.

But I would definately try Disney (I would pick Disney over Carnival even if you weren't taking little kids, it is a great cruise), they are great for everyone and it is a blast. The crew really makes the experience so much better, it is a trip you and your family will never forget.

carnival is definitely geared more towards the family and children. if you have very young children, i would say carnival is the way to go.

however - royal carribean has done a great job incorporating children as well. if you have children that are starting to grow up a little bit (12+ as youngest) then i would say royal carribean.

there is always Disney Cruiselines as well. your kids will have a blast. but as parents - you'd rather stay home and weed your garden. it's very annoying.

I think it would be Disney's Cruiseline It's a little of some thing for everyone and if you book it a year in advanced it's alot cheaper. check out this website
