What's the best place for a Carribean vacation for a family with 2 teenagers? |
Our family wants to take a well deserved vacation this year to somewhere in the Carribean. We have a 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter. Can you recommend an island and resort which would have ample activities for them especially in the evening while mom and dad escape for some alone time? |

Yes Barbados.
We have mnay nice hotels here and some of them offer that service. I think The Accra beach is one of the hotels that offer it. You'll love it here in Barbados nice atmosphere and lots to do and to see. =) |

Harbour Heights vacation resort in the Grand Cayman Islands in the Caribbean Sea offers many fun activities for the whole family. Take a look at their Cayman Island activities page: http://www.harbourheightscayman.com/cayman-island-activities/default.html |

The Beaches resort (part of Sandals) across the caribbean, particularly cater for families, and activities, so plenty for your children to do. The more established islands such as Jamaica, Dominican, Cuba, Mexico, all have lots of things to do, and have a great range of water sports/activities. |

Yes, def try www.BigDealGetaways.com - they have incredible vacation packages - usually for families of 4 - all over the world. Check thru their site to see if they have any caribbean offers right now, it will be worth the visit if so. We've been to Hawaii & an All inclusive cancun resort for less than $20 a night - they're a corporate travel broker with unbeatable deals - good luck! |

I disagree. Iv been to Aruba 4 times and its fantastic. I recommend All Inclusive and believe me, the food is delicious but yes if you eat out it is a little over priced. BUT good news is that it is ALWAYS hot and sunny there. And if it rains its only 20 mm a year. Its also outside the hurricane belt so there are never any hurricanes there at all.
Its amazing there..maybe look into it. |

I'm 18 and basically the only vacations my family takes is to the carribean. I would say the best islands for teenagers would be Mexico, Dominican Republic or Cuba (I'm Canadian, if you aren't American then I recommend it, it is my favourite).
In Mexico, I've been to the pacific coast (Puerto Vallarta) and to Cancun/Mayan Riveria. I would say Cancun/Mayan has more to do. We stayed at the Bahia Principe Tulum. The Bahia Principe has 3 hotels, that are connected. The Bahia Principe Tulum, Coba and Akumal. If you stay at one you can take little trolleys to the other ones, which gives you more options in terms of pools/restaurants. Its a big resort with plenty to do. However there are many smaller resorts if you like smaller ones. I recommend no less than a 4 star.
In Dominican Republic, I've been to Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Samana. I'd say Punta Cana was my favourite, however the resort I stayed at is no longer under the same ownership. But again I'd look at 4 stars or better, and check out tripadvisor to look at peoples photos.
Cuba, Im not going to go into much detail about in case you are American. But my favourite would be Cayo Santa Maria. A small island off the coast of Cuba in the Bahama Channel. Its isolated, but its beautiful! |
