Anything that has an American link.

At least one country is positive in its thinking towards the yanks.

Happymissus
You cannt use any american credit cards and that includes not only american express but those linked with american banks like MBNA cards.

cubalishus
You can use any credit card as long as its not American based or linked, they do not accept anything American.

lazybones
anything thats linked to America you can not use. We took our lloyds tsb credit card and that worked fine.
Have a great time Cuba is fantastic

Palmasysol39
if the credit cards are us banks none, specially Amex due to the embargo. You might find a place or two ( like Hotels ) that may accept them ( Visa or MC) but 80% of the places in Cuba deal only wth Cash.
If the CC are backed by european banks then u can use them when they accept them.
I almost get my bank account closed just for checking my checking account balance from Cuba, did get a nasty letter from my bank saying so...

Tuấn-VPY
you can use any credit cards in Cuba, as long as they are not American Express. The only limitation is that most shops/supermarkets/entertainment venues etc will not accept payment by cards, but there are plenty of ATMs and banks, especially in the big tourist areas like Havana, Varadero and Trinidad where you can withdraw money free of charge. Hotels usually accept card payments.

Redhead
YOU CANNOT USE ANY CREDIT CARDS AFFILIATED WITH AMERICAN BANKS I.E. CAPITAL ONE FOR EXAMPLE - GO TO YOUR BANK AND MAKE SURE THAT IT IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH AMERICA - GO ONTO YOUR FOREIGN OFFICE WEB SITE AND CHECK ABOUT CURRENCY.
IF YOUR ENGLISH TAKE STERLING OR EUROS
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHECK

DO NOT TAKE HEED OF OTHER ANSWERS

The credit cards that can be used in Cuba, as long as they are NOT issued by any American bank, are: MasterCard, Visa International and Cabal.

However, they do accept US dollars and travelers checks.
