I live in Jamaica, and yes there is a crime issue, but for the most part it does not affect tourists. Being a tourist in Jamaica is very Safe. A definate must see is Dunns River falls. Blue Mountain Horseback Trail is pretty breathtakin, the rivers are beautiful, Dolphin Cove is good also, u can get a ride on the dolphin. Also relatively new is StingRay city, where u get to interact with sting rays, not been as yet, but it sounds interesting. The food here is really great. The hotels will give you details on great tours. don't worry. Best town to stay Montego Bay, negril, Ochio Rios, Portland is pretty good, very pretty but not touristy, way cheaper also.I would reccomend first 3 though. ENJOY YOUR STAY |

dunns river, for the most part i didnt like jamaica people are very rude and aggressive, try somewhere else its not that great |

been to Jamaica a million times.....dunns river falls, the white house, Negril (sunset on the beach at micheals), Montego bay downtown, the blue mountain area...Stay away from Port Arthur and Kingston....Not safe places....Just go and enjoy...Cab drivers are pretty expensive....food is cheap and delicious....Email rosefalcontravel@netscape.net...she is my wife and is a certified Jamaica and Sandals expert.....in the subject line put "travel with keewee"...she wont open mail if she dont know you...good luck... |

There is so much to see and do here. I live in Jamaica and I haven't even experienced all that the island has to offer. If you are coming to Jamaica you must visit these places: Dunn's River Falls, Blue Mountain, Montego Bay, Boston Jerk Center in Portland, Various night clubs and beaches.
You also have to taste our different varieties of food. You won't be disappointed.

I like the Cays off the coast of Kingston. Lime Cay and Maiden Cay(has not one tree and is gorgeous). I love Portland. There are more places in Jamaica than Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril. You have to climb Dunn's River. I'm from Jamaica and I love doing it! I don't think Ochi Rios has the best beaches. If you looking for the white sand beaches... go to Negril. Portland is my favourite parish...it's romantic and secluded. You should check out Port Antonio. It's not the normal tourist area. You should also check out Rick's Cafe in Negril... Be safe and have fun!!!!! |

montego bay is the cleanest place to stay but you relly want to take the tour to the blue mountain it takes most of a day but its very nice. you wanna be very careful while in the country because they have some bad dudes down there and they will rob and rape if they get half of a chance. |
