1. Devil's Woodyard is a mud volcano, not a pitch lake. The Pitch Lake is in La Brea, which is about 3 km away from Point Fortin, which is home to the largest LNG plant in the western hemisphere, Atlantic LNG. Devil's Woodyard is near Princes Town
2. To the person who said "If you really want to head south", you have to be a northerner to say something like "there isn't anything in San Fernando that you can't do in Port-of-Spain" and something else about "far superior clubs like Zen". There are places past Grand Bazaar for your general benefit that happen to be part of Trinidad. I am from South by the way.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, if you really want to maximise your visit to Trinidad and Tobago, it would help if you visited here during festival times, like Carnival, Point Fortin Borough Day Celebrations, Divali, Sugar and Energy Festival in Couva. Another good thing to do would be to indulge in a good ole "Trini Lime" which is what most of us do here anyway. Any time is a good time for a lime in Trinidad. Then there are the obvious things to do like visit the beach and the Pitch Lake, the Caroni Bird Sanctuary, the Asa Wright Nature Centre, the Pointe-A-Pierre Wildfowl Trust, the Temple in the Sea at Waterloo and just mingle with the population.
You could check www.guidetocaribbeanvacations.com and www.visittnt.com for more information. I hope I was of some degree of assistance. |

I'm from Trinidad so i don't know too many things you can do in Tobago but...
Things that are close in Port-of-Spain(city in Trinidad):
*Maracas Bay (the beach) - taste shark and bake, red mango, fudge, pineapple/mango chow etc. They have little shops on the way there.
*Botanical Gardens - beautiful gardens
*Valrico Shopping Mall
*West Mall
*Caroni Bird Santuary - See Trinidad's national bird the Scarlet Ibis.
*Take a plane or ferry to Tobago where you can go:
Snorkeling in Bucco Reef
visit the fort
Further South there is a city called San Fernando:
*Go Mayaro Bay (the beach)
*Devil's Woodyard (natural Pitch Lake)
*San Fernando Hill
*Gulf City Mall - Hi rpm club is inside must be 18 to drink
*Sting- club close to Gulf City Mall
Okay those are some of the things from the top of my head, these are good websites, hope you have fun!!! |

Well I think everybody did an excellent job on answering that question. There are a lot of restaurants that you could also visit as well. There is the famous Jenny's on the Boulevard in Port of Spain, There is the Pink Anthurium in Maraval, which I hear is great dining, expensive though. Trotters in Port of Spain which is a great restaurant, prices are good. Last the Tree House Restaurant in San Fernando. Check them out for great dining. |

The first answer's pretty good.
Maracas is a good option, and the food recommendations are good, too.
It's a tad early in the turtle season, but if you like sea turtles, the females will be coming ashore to lay eggs. Maracas is too populated for that, but you could check out Toco.
There's nothing in San Fernando that can't be done in Port of Spain, which includes far-superior bars and clubs (like Zen). However, if you really want to head south, you might as well go all the way to Pitch Lake. It's not that great, but it is one of the natural wonders of the world.
If you like Italian food, I highly recommend eating at Il Colosseo. It's on Rust Street, across the street from the relatively new and worthless Hooter's.
And lastly, if nothing else, make sure you try doubles. The best are in Curepe, between the airport and Port of Spain. But there are plenty of vendors all over the island. |

Well my dear look no further, there are lots of websites you can look into, You are going a a nice peaceful time of the year just after Carnival "The greatest show on earth" you can also go to te sister isle of beautiful and serene Tobago there you can snorkel visit the coral reef and relax on the beach not forgetting have all the gteat foods like carb and dumplings, coo coo and fish with callaloo
Then you come back to Trinidad have a roti (a east indian dish) go see the pitch lake located in La Brea south Trinidad go to the bird sanctuary which is Central Trinidad and you may just be there in time for central Trinidad's Sugar and energy Festival or Point Fortin borough day you will have the most amazing time I can assure you.
And you must go to St. James chck out Smokey and Bunty have a cold beer there...when you want some nght time entertainment check out Mas Camp Pub on Arapita Ave
Eating in south the best is still Soongs Great Wall |

well, it's sad that u'll be going there after carnival and all the festivities. i would've advised u to go during carnival. it's that best. but if u like to party, trinidad is the place to be. there's always some party going on somewhere. there's a lot of places u could go to in tobago which is more geared toward tourism tho. i would name them, but it's a long list. Just go on any trinidad and tobago website and there will be somewhere saying "fun things to do in trinidad and tobago" or something like dat. |
