What are some good reasons to stay in a resort?

I am trying to decide whether or not to stay in a resort when I go on vacation this summer. What are the benefits of staying on a resort?

the resort generally has a lot of free , fun stuff you can do. There's also also lots of different people that you can socialise with. We stay at a resort for family holidays....most of them have babysitters and kiddie areas for the kids. A lot of them have good restaurants and bars...so if you just want to chill...a resort is the best way to go...also the resort staff can arrange outside activities if you want....Hubby, baby and I go to the same resort every year and we love it..

There is different activities to do... usually through out the whole day they have different things to do or watch.

If your all inclusive then all your food/snacks and drinks are free(paid for)

Safe their are police standing on your beach

One of the greatest benefits is that they are all inclusive and you don't have to go driving on the streets there. There is an adventure for you. Most people if you go to JA don't realize that they drive on the left hand side of the road which can be extremely unnerving and being dependent on a taxi driver or yourself to negotiate the roads it taking your life into your hands.
In terms of costs, all of that is included in your bill at an all inclusive resort. Some resorts that are not all inclusive can make the costs really add up.

I ve just returned ,and stayed with local friends, however I too will experience the all inclusive the next time I go,just to have everything paid for ahead of time...BUT ..I will not confine myself to that area alone...I've had a taste of the Island running all over the place with people who live there and drove us around,I am now comfortable to leave certain areas and enjoy the REAL Jamaica..........get around...see it !...
