I saw all the answers...and I agree with them all.
Never call a PR a "Cabron".
Never confuse PR with a Mexican or Dominican
(Although they are our Latin brothers)
Never talk about Family (Unless we are friends)
Never try to treat us as "Lesser-than"...PR's have more intense Pride than other races!
Don't be Culture shocked when you get on the island...when you travel you won't see smiley faces...because We are Intense in everything we do...even in Dance, SEX, and Music.
And don't ask for our Green Card...we lost too many soldiers in Vietnam...and other wars to take it kindly. and remember "Viva la Raza"...is Mexican...La Pina Colada, Coqui, Bacardi, and Chupacabras is PR. |

2. Do not ask the stupid question many ignorant Americans ask: Do you have papers? Duhhh we are American citizens.
3. Do Not talk bad about our mother or family, our food or our island.
4.Do not ask to us, Where is Puerto Rico, it is in Asia? Hello!!!! Puerto Rico is in the Caribbean! Look in the MAP!
5.Don't call us Spics or something like that, about the 90% of the population speak fluent english.
6. Don't come to Puerto Rico and try our people like servants, we are not that stupid, we are not that poor, and you know what, we use Dollars, so don't try to go there and make us feel like you are rich and we need to be your personal slaves.
7. We are kind people, sweet and loyal, we are good friends... Don't try to make us feel we are *** holes... You will not like our reaction, Believe me. We can be very aggressive if you provoke us!
8. Finally respect our culture, our language and our patriotism we are proud to be puerto Ricans as you shoud be proud to be from your country. |
