Seriously, a Santo Libre is the best drink here, rum, Sprite and a squeeze of lime over lots of ice.

Here some suggestions :

- Cuba Libre ( rum & coke)
- Santo Libre ( rum & seven-up/sprite)
- PiÃ±a Colada ( with or without rum)
Banana Mama
Coco Loco ( Coco with rum)
The 2 major rum brands are : BARCELO & BRUGAL
Barcelo is a bit softer ( I prefer). Brugal has also ( unique in the rum industry a "Licor de Rum" (2.600 rds/bottle).
The beers are :
Presidente
Bohemia Especial ( my favorite)
Brahma
# 10 (very gentle soft beer)
and all the classic imported beers from Belgium and Germany and some from the Usa.
Be cautious not to drink to cold the first days, your sistem could react to this and then you're be ill.

Hi,
I am assuming that you are a girl/lady.
that you are coming around Easter time too.
So these are my recommendations

*For beer try Presidente light. (you can drink a couple of them if you are into beers, it would not give you a headache)

*Cocktails Caribbean Breeze (this one is good but to be drinking by yourself)
also Caribbean Dream, Columbus cocktail, a day at the beach these you can drink it in the day time.
Some resorts/hotels might not have the same cocktails drinks.
So you ask the bartender for something of your preferences.
Light/suave or Strong/fuerte.
don't be mixing more than 2 different types of drinks. it can cause headaches, or/and nausea.
Mama Juana it is more a man drink, but you can try it.
Cubalibre is OK.

The best thing would be rum and coke.
Keep it simple if you cant go rum and coke or just straight rum at least keep the combinations simple as in rum + one other thing.
the more fruitier and complicated the drink the more you stick out as a tourist and for good sakes don't drink anything with a little umbrella in it.
