I've been several times to the Gran Ventana and that was good. But I'm not the 5 star freak. |

In puerto plata the best hotels are either Gran Ventana, Casa Colonial, and the Victoria. They are all located around the same place, so it's mostly about the amount of luxury you want and the amount of money your willing to spend. Casa Colonial is beautiful and very comfortable but it's also the most expensive. The other two are more laid-back but still have all the comfortabilities of Casa Colonial.

Casa Colonial is the ONLY 5 Star in Puerto Plata and it doesn't matter what anyone else tells you there is NO OTHER ONE.
Stars are different here than other places. |

I would think that the best is the Casa Colonial but it is rather expensive about 350 to 450 us/night.... it is visited by the world famous and artists... |
