Languages in terms of larger numbers of people that use them (not sure of %):
1. Spanish
2. English
Besides the above two, there are small groups of inmigramnts from other countries that speak the language of their countries of origin. These are in alphabetical order, not sure which language had greater numbers, probably all are less than 1%:
Arabic,Cantonese? (or it is Mandarin?), Creole, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, others.
Not spoken languages:
Our deaf comunity use ASL (American Sign Language) with several variations developed here. So many people would say our Sign Language is not exactly ASL. |

estimately by me.
Spanish 95%
English 50%
THe south part of the city have less english speakers that north part. Tourist zones many people to english. But all of them as a second language. The school here teach english as a primary class from PK to 12th grade. |

Spanish is the language used by the population but in the area of San Juan the majority understand English. Both languages are "officials" and many documents, and some road signs, are in English.
Percents in my opinion: Spanish 97% and a 3% English in business and touristic areas.

Everyone there speaks Spanish; the island used to be a Spanish colony. But it's also a US Territory, which means that the Dollar is the currency and most people speak at least some English. |

The main language is Spanish. In the touristic areas all over Puerto Rico people will speak English, some better than others but still you can easily get around. |

chinese: one percent
arabic: one percent
french: one percen
german: one percent
chavacano de zamboanga: three percen
yiddish: half percent.
the rest spanish and english, depending on what area of the city, you'll hear one more than the other. |
