Jamaica is the most know place because of;
1. Bob Marley and reggae music
2. marijuana
3.Rastafarian culture
4. Olympic athletes that dominate
5. Blue mountain Coffee
6. its size
For years while traveling and people tell strangers that they are from Barbados they usually ask ' which part of Jamaica is that'.
Barbados has become very popular especially with the British.We are know for our friendly disposition, beautiful beaches, and our rich culture.
I must admit that Dominican Republic is popular as well I guess it is because of its beauty and being linked to Haiti on the opposite side. |

I'd say Jamaica because of Bob Marley and his reggae music. Also, the weather is nice. They have alot of the all inclusive resorts which can be a good thing to pay for almost everything in advance. I'm sure the rum punch helps, too. Jamaica is also well-known for it's beautiful scenery with it's lovely sunsets. Waterfalls are also specatcular in Jamaica. |

The most well known I think would be Jamaica.
"Ska", "Reggae", "Dancehall", "Ya' mon", "Ganja", "Rasta", "Feeling Irie", "Bob Marley", "Jerk Chicken", "Negril", "Ocho Rios", "Marijuana", "Kingston", "No problem mon", etc. all words or phrases that have become synonymous with Jamaica.
Some terms are good, some are bad. Jamaica has done a good job overall at creating a large international awareness for themselves though. |
