It's my first time on a cruise so I want to know all the things you would definitely want to see and what to avoid. I'm going on a Royal Carribean cruise....
My friends and I (15 of us total) are looking to travel from Ontario to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. We are also going during a peak season (spring break).
Ok guys im not stupid...i know that the Carribean Sea borders Puerto Rico because it is an island, but what countries or land masses are closest to it? (north, south east and west)
TANX!
West:
* Dominican Republic (closest country in any direction)
East:
* US Virgin Islands (Saint Thomas the nearest island if going east).
South:
* Venezuela (no other island or country if going straight south crossing the Caribbean Sea)
North:
* USA - If you go straight north you will reach the USA east coast somewhere.
* However if you travel north-west you will fly over the Bahamas before reaching Florida, USA.

Here is a map that shows Puerto Rico and surrounding areas. Look at the "R" in the word Caribbean, go straight down from it to see Puerto Rico.
