Jamaica is one of the best island for tourism. You have many activities to do there rather than going on a small island that you can travel the whole island in 1 hour.

I think Jamaica is a beautiful land of wood and water and the people are caring and friendly. On the other hand the country needs proper maintenance and and the people should have a better opportunity at a higher level of education so that the crime can be reduced and the economy improved.

It is a relivivly nice country but dont listen to these people about the violence because yes i admit it is a country that has violence...but name ONE just one country that doesnt have violence...my point? violence can happen anywhere...go and enjoy! =)

Jamaica was rated in the top 5 places to visit in 2008. I'm fom there and they have many beautiful hotels,beaches and plenty fun things for people to do whenever they go there.

Jamaica has it ups and its down just like every other country (trust me). The only down to Jamaica is the crime we face but its not that bad, I live here. I think Jamaica is a great place to have fun, experience new things, chill by the pool, hang by the beach, go on adventures and just relax and enjoy yourself. It's awesome.

i loved it , pick a nice resort and stick around there i would no go running around outside the resort with out a group or a guide
but if you like the beach, eating and drinking its paradise

I went to Jamaica but the negative publicity and warning clouded my judgment. I tend to walk around as thought someone was going to snatch my bag or camera. Fortunately, nothing happened and I enjoyed my stay. I guess it all depends on where you go and how you protect yourself. It was an interesting experience and I would go again. We went touring and saw some lovely houses and not the shanty ones that are always in the news. Then again, we did not go to Kingstown we went to Montego Bay.

I guess you have to go and see for yourself but as with anywhere else just take the necessary precautions as you would anywhere else.

It's the worst shi*hole in the Caribbean... and the only people who go there are AmeriKans who see it advertised on TV and don't know about the really NICE islands in the Caribbean they can go to.
