I just went in February.

The beaches= gorgeous blue water

The cities= Do not walk around alone. The people are very friendly but I know someone who got hurt there. Just be careful who you talk to and do NOT walk on the beach alone at night.

The people= friendly but very pushy at times (especially in marketplaces)

The taxis= Make sure it's a real taxi. They have red license plates. The second I stepped out the airport I got a dozen quotes on a ride from Montego Bay to Negril. Anywhere from 40USD to 80USD and also two or three marriage proposals and two drug offers...which freaked me out. Just be smart about it.

It was a nice vacation but I wouldn't call it a tropical paradise. It was definitely beautiful there though and the water temp was very nice.

AWESOME... I could eat the pineapple all day. The people are pretty nice.... but usually milking you for a tip.

If you go... go to an all inclusive hotel and try NOT to leave the hotel unless you are in a group or a guided tour... unless you want to be tempted to buy pot or some other frivolous way to spend your money.

The people where we stayed were ALWAYS great

went there on vacation to montego bay. It was the best vacation i ever went on. The people are so friendly, the food was bangin! my hotel resort made the best 24 hour cheeseburgers. The ocean was so warm and nice. The country itself is beautiful, but some of the streets can be seen as run down, but that doesn't bother me. My brother was seen smoking a cig out on the balcony of his room, and was immediately asked by a man below if he wanted to buy ganja. It was the best ganja he has ever smoked.

I went there for my honeymoon.

There are two Jamaicas, resort and reality.

The people are generally friendly, but impoverished. Many homes and businesses are no more than shacks. Crime is high due to the poverty.

The country is lush, green and beautiful. The air is heavy with moisture. The ocean is clean and clear and warm.

The food is standard caribbean with spicy jerk (barbecue) meats offered everywhere. So yummy! A lot of rum is produced there.

The pickle machine
It is fun but sometimes the beggars can be a bit overwhelming

Jamaica is absolutely wonderful...it's a place where you can get actually anything you desire. Jamaica has a tropical climate so we dont experience the extremes in weather, but we are mostly sunny. The food is mainly spicy, but you can avail yourself with any type of food/cuisine you prefer as there are varying resaturants. The beaches are magnificent, plush waterfalls, beautfiul scenery and lovely people..The city areas is just as commercialized as new York, but the rural areas are places to behold!! Scenic beauty and wonderful old architecture...If you ever decide to know more about Jamaica and meet some friendly and fun Jamaicans, feel free to join my Travel & leisure Club... www.clubadventurejamaica.ning.com or email me at clubadventureja@cwjamaica.com

From my point when i hear the word ''J A M A I C A '' i think of the Nature,Scenes, Beaches,Beautiful people and nice friendly people out there who are whilling to help you .. although i never been to JA.. but met some good friends thro net.. :)

I have only been to Jamaica once, but that was enough for several lifetimes! In short, it was bloody awful - the people are sooo pushy and loud, you fear for your life if you go off your resort. Only the food was great, but that's not enough to go back for. My advice? Don't waste your money. Instead go to Hawaii . . . now there's Heaven on Earth!
