What is a beautiful, safe carribean country to travel to. We went to Jamaica last year.?

We were uncomfortable outside our all-inclusive resort. People were following us and begging us to buy from them. We were also told not to walking about after dark. This was in Montego Bay. Any thoughts?

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. OK, there are a few beggers about, but far and few between. I think the last time I was there, no one came up to me. The first time, one did. The second time a few years later a different one did.

It's a loverly island and the people will look after you.

But then I'm biased.

Vincy's Rule!

You have white sandy beaches, black sandy beaches, red sandy beaches. You have rocky pools, a volcano, forests, jungles, pine forests, parrots, swimming, scuba and a beautiful people.

More Lies & More Smoke Screens
Yeah! the brochures ONLY show the "GOOD" parts of Jamaica, but it is a VERY poor country. We have not gone there because we were told it IS unsafe. My husband & I have been to the Cayman Islands. We never once experienced anything bad or even anything that made us uncomfortable.

Barbados Chick
Barbados is probably the safest island in the Caribbean. We have lived her for over 2 years and I, a white female, feel quite comfortable anywhere I go.
Just be sensible, there are always undesireables everywhere you go in this day and age.

Aruba...surprise you after hearing all the hype? Friendly people that speak 4 different languages but English is one of the most spoken. Aruba prides itself on being friendly and you can be out late without worrying about beggars or thieves. I lived in Aruba, in the "worst" area and never had a problem...I'm female 5'2 and 105lbs.

You'll love the warm water, the pristine white beaches and the hospitality.

Antigua - small (65,000 people), beautiful beaches, friendly people, English speaking

St. Maartin - half Dutch (English speaking), half French, no hassles

We loved St.John in the USVirgin Islands. Very safe. Just to name some things to do, take a excursion over to the British Virgin Islands, rent a jeep,if your into snorkeling there are many beaches to explore. Duty free shopping. Many restaurants. Rent a villa with a pool and hot tub. With a family, this may be cheaper way than a hotel.
St John is my favorite island in the Caribbean. So beautiful.

Good Luck and happy researching.

i must say all the island is safe is its own way, if you looking for peace and quite and for no one to bother you then you will have to choose Trinidad and Tobago for we trini leave the tourist alone unless you need help for we are very kind and friendly and i think that you would have a great time at the beaches and alot to do and see.

I would suggest Abaco or Exuma in the Bahamas. These are much different from Nassau. They are peaceful, beautiful and exciting to visit. Exuma has our national Parks and if you are interested in environmental sights along with some good Island culture its the best of the bunch.

Another choice is the Cayman Islands. A British style tropical island. very clean and beautiful, but very expensive.
