I am a St Lucian citizen living in England, it all depends what you are looking for in your holiday. If your looking for peace and tranquillity you will find plenty of that, if you are looking for diving, snorkeling` etc you will also find plenty of that. The climate is very hot and humid, the locals are very friendly and welcoming however there is alot of poverty and some begging but nothing offensive! A great place for a holiday, if you are a typical tourist who wants all the luxuries then visit Rodney Bay as this area is fully geared for overseas visitors and you will thoroughly enjoy your stay.

its a wondrful place; a volcanic rain forest. Its fairly simple. in the past 'owned by France anf then England. Unless you try had, you will probably never see the locals some of whom pick banana for a living. I walked a mile from the hotel and saw people living on a one room hut.

It's wonderful! Catch a cricket match, hike the Pitons! Most everyone is friendly. Great diving. They have a Jazz Festival that's alot of fun too. And bananas. They have tons of bananas.

Hot and gorgeous and French Speaking!

Choose a great resort and you will love it.. tropical, hot, nice beaches, great snorkeling and diving.. However not much to do in "towns" (they are rather little dirty villages), no lovely restaurants or promenades to stroll so you need to be in a resort that provides entertainment / trips (to cocoa plantations or waterfalls or volcanos) and sunset cruises.. see the official website www.stlucia.org for details.. i can recommend LeSport resort (top end, nice spa)

very hot. The sea breeze is nice and calming but very bumpy. Take loads of suncream and incest cream because most insects live in the hot weather. Be aware!

arnold
warm and humid and very nice

a shocking contrast of poverty (the residents) and affluence (the tourists)

It is difficult to answer such a broad question. I am a
mature Canadian who spends the 5 month of our hash winters in St. Lucia. Without knowing what you really want out of your vacation in St. Lucia, one cannot answer your question. I would ask: what do you want to do? are you a diver? do you want the all inclusive experience? do you want the eco-tourism experience? etc. etc. Having been to St. Lucia 30 some time since 1995 and building a retirement home there (yes, I'm old, and wise and all) I can tell you that St. Lucia is, as the advertisements say.... "Simply Beautiful".... or we wouldn't keep going back.... but.... what do you want in a vacation.... that is the best question that only you can answer. Yes, St. Lucia is Beautiful...... the honeymoon destonation of the world.... but much more. Tell me more about your needs..... VDP
