Political Hypocrisy.

Ganja brings the money, but the people are told that these drug dealers are bad and are the root of our crime problem.

Guess what we usually need to put our kids in school and train them so they can get jobs and build businesses and employ people? MONEY!

SERIOUSLY. It is a fact that COCAINE MONEY built miami. The IRS, DEA and FBI arent even ashamed of that fact! They just collect the taxes then lock up the violent drug dealers AFTERWARDS.

CASE IN POINT: Operation Kingfish attacked all the major drug kingpins in Jamaica. Murder went up 30% within the year following and has stayed that high since.

If we had taxed those drug dealers to death instead, we would have had enough money to build schools for two generations. Instead we took the bosses out and left the do-do birds (with guns) who worked for them with nothing to do for a living. What the hell did they THINK was gonna happen?

The hypocrisy is that EVERY big move that Kingfish made (with US government support) was stressed as a 'huge success' in the public eye as 'a step forward in the fight against crime'. The drop in crime that they claimed would result NEVER took place.

Guess whats happening now? The 'unemployed' do-do brains are importing MOSTLY USA manufactured hand-guns from haiti and flooding jamaica with THAT instead of the money that the Kingpins used to bring before. The do-do brains (left without real leadership) arent smart enough to get weed into usa to make money anymore, so they take what they can get for their weed: GUNS.

Go figure. Every time you hear another person get shot in a ghetto, THINK KINGFISH.

I would have to say because people want to make a living so they rob, steal and kill to make their way. Also because it is so easy to get a gun in Jamaica (unfortunately) (illegally). It also seems like there is a lot of crime because of our small population in comparison to the United States of America.

Basically what everyone has stated already is the reason. But you wanna know the REAL reason ?? GUN CONTROL !

It way too difficult to own a gun in Jamaica, with the rules, permits, limits on bullets, etc...the only people who have guns are the criminals, and they don't follow the rules. Make it easy for the average citizen to own a gun, I guarantee the crime rate goes down ! It only takes a few times of shooting a badman, and the badman not so brave anymore ;-)

everybody have 2 eat a food and the gov not treatin da poeple right plus over populated ghettos and the yung lads have ntn 2 do so the easiest thing is 2 pick up a gun in the ghetto a gun is the easiest thing to get drugs has barely any thing to do with Jamaica's crime weed is what we mostly get high off nothing else and its in abundance here so yea its just a matter of survival and getting some food to eat plus when people dis each other and when gangs vs gangs and the police force kinda sucks the main cause is poor people simply so not drugs or any of the other bull

This is because of,lack of jobs,which leads up to no money,so people tend to go out and steel for what they want,and if they cant get it they kill,for it.Also most of the times it's because of bad-mind (red eye) people they are jealous of you they want to kill you for what is yours.Also some people just live in a bad area and see some of their friends with a gun and want one so if a boy or girl dis them they pull their gun and you can do the math.
