Viejo San Juan
El Morro (fort in San Juan)
El Yunque Rain Forest
Camuy Caves
Bioluminescent Bay (in vieques or la parguera)
All the beaches are gorgeous
The Casa Blanca- gov't house in San Juan
Arecibo Observatory

There are also tons of shopping & a huge mall called Las plazas americas & museums, especially in Ponce, beautiful mountain sides & old cathedrals in San Juan & through out. Also Indian parks & more.

If you get chance try to rent a car, that way you can see the sights on your terms and not on a set time frame with a group tour. Most people will know English, especially in the tourist areas, but trying your hand at speaking Spanish looks good.

Places to see.
Old San Juan - easily spend a few hours walking around here. It's a little hilly so maybe jump on the free trolley bus to El Morro (the fort) and work your way back down through the city. Plenty of places to eat and drink for all budgets. Try Breakfast at La Bombonera (one of the oldest establishments in the city)

El Yunque (rainforest) plus spend the afternoon at Luquillo Beach

Check out one of the grand hotels on a weekend evening and try your hand (feet) at some latin dancing.

Ponce on the South coast for more Puerto Rican architecture

Arecibo Observatory. The James Bond movie Golden Eye and also the Jodie Foster movie Contact were filmed there.

There is also this: Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve (Tel:787-722-5882). I have not been, but I would like to (it sounds a cool place to visit). You can have an escorted tour through the reserve on an electric trolley, but you have to book in advance.

There is plenty to do here. You might even want to consider a side trip to Vieques or Culebra (as I've heard the beaches are amazing)

Try the local food stands and just enjoy everything that the island has to offer.

Food wise, everything you can imagine. In condado area for seafood try Miro's. In Old San Juan try The Parrot Club for Caribbean style or Tantra's for Indian cuisine

Eat. HELL YEAH. Carne Frita (ANY resturaunt has it, guarenteed), Pinchos (almost anywhere has them for sale, a lot of the time roadside), Tostonies (come with pinchos), Tripletas (hard to find, my favorite), Quesitos and Pastillies (got them at SJU airport in San Juan). OMFG PR had the best food of all time.

Try Kenepas too.

I went with my girlfriend to see her dad. I had to leave a week before her, but I brought food back home with me. then when she came back i had her bring me some food too.

If you go, go to old san juan. find the Capilla Del Cristo. on the WEST side of the street, theres some resturaunts. go to the PR food resturaunt, not the Italian food place or greek or whatever (named ambrosia). When youre looking at the Capilla (get some pics as you eat, thats a National Land Mark, the prettiest in my opinion), its on the right side of the street, you sit at tables in the street.

When at the Capilla, go to the Parque de Palomas, the pidgeon park. spend a few quarters on some pidgeon food from the lady that sells it there. You dont have to throw it to feed them, you feed them by hand. dont panic if they fly onto your arms, shoulder or head, just get good pictures. El Morro is awesome too. Visit the Castillo.

Don't go in the barrio la perla, you might not make it back out if you do.

I miss the beautiful sound of coquis....

old san juan is nice, you can go fly a kite and eat mofongo (which is delicious fried plantain). you can try going to a bar or salsa club where the locals go sometime if you like to dance. take the ferry to vieques (an island off of the main island of puerto rico), its cheap and doesnt take very long. vieques has beautiful snorkeling and make sure you go to the bioluminescence bay one night, trust me you wont regret it, its magical!

ahhchoooo
Old San Juan in interesting

The Bacardi factory is fun too :)

bellydancerben2010
