I'm not so good with hotel names if that is what you want but i can give you a guide to the Dominican Republic.
If you are looking for nice beaches Punta Cana is one of the best. I personally have never been but I know all who have gone there have raved about it. Samana has nice beaches too but there is not too much to see and do there when it isn't whale season (december - march)Santo Domingo is a crazy city but it has the colonial city which was built by columbus and you can tour his son's house and a museam that has some great artifacts. The whole colonial city is a great place to do shopping and has some great restaurants.
On the north coast Sosua is a nice place to see. It is very tourist orientated so you will be constantly asked to buy stuff but it is one of my favorite beaches.
If you want to see Santiago be sure to see the monument it is well inside is not so pretty but you get the most amazing view of santiago and it is a great spot to take pictures. Also try to go to Calle el sol and the corner 30 of march. Its not too far from the monument... And there is a great park with some buildings from the 1800s.
I hope you enjoy your trip down to the D.R. |

I'll give you a couples of places, so you can decide which one is better for you.
-Punta Cana: Great Beaches, Great All-inclusive Hotels
-Casa de Campo, La Romana: This one is ideal for golf, also have good beaches.
-SamanĂ¡: Here you can find great beaches. Cayo Levantado is a very beautiful island with great beaches located in samana. Another one is Playa Rincon, one of the best 5 beaches in the world. If you go to samana in January or February, you can see the Whales, this is very very nice.
-Santo Domingo: This is the capital of the country. Here you'll find a very large number of good restaurants of any kind, very nice lifenight and many historical places.
-Santiago: It's the second city of the country. Very nice people, Good restaurants and nice historical places.
-Puerto Plata: Located in the north coast of the island. Here you'll fine nice beaches and very nice all-inclusive hotels. You can go to Sosua, Cabarete or Playa Dorada, these are places in the Puerto Plata Province.
Depending on what you like to do, you can decide what's the best place in Dominican Republic.
Hope this helps. Regards. |

From experience i recommend sosua its got fantastic beaches plenty of English speaking bars and the casa marina reef hotel is fantastic we go every year and stay in this hotel it has its own private beach but i think its more fun going to the beach the Dominicans use its certainly very lively but be warned you will get constant hassle from the locals to buy their goods and they never tire of telling you how poor they are enjoy it though its a fantastic place |

I stayed at the 'Bahia Principe' resort in Punta Cana last year - a beutiful place with nice people - not much night life though! Some of the shows were a bit odd, but thouroughly enjoyed it there! Would reccommend! |

Punta Cana is definately the best place to stay. It is absolutely beautiful and the people are extremely nice! There are three resorts there and they are all gorgeous, clean, and fun. The restaurants are on the grounds and the hotels are all inclusive. They have activities going on all the time too. Hope this helps! |
