Additional Details I am referring to flying within the Caribbean from Island to Island. some of the plces would be: St.Kitts; Grenada; Antigua & Barbuda; St.Vincent; & St.Lucia etc.

As far as getting around between islands in the caribbean, I would have to say that LIAT would probably be your best choice. most of their fares are pretty reasonable and not too restrictive as far as I know with advanced bookings and change of plans. be aware as you travel around the caribbean -there are some islands that will not allow you to get through customs/immigration upon arrival if you don't already have an outgoing ticket. I'm sure that BWIA has some fares and flights that would suit you well as well. As far as the American carriers though--they don't offer too much in terms of inter-island travel. Another option is to arrive in an island such as Grenada (my favourite and home of many years) and then buy a reasonably priced ticket on a schooner or offer to crew on a boat so you can venture by boat up through the islands in the windward chain --a day sail to Bequia .. or hop the ferry over to carriacou from grenada ...many options..but be sure to check out LIAT --great little airline and they do take care of their equipment and people even though they aren't a big US carrier!! |

That depends on where you want to go and from which city. I prefer American from Miami. US Air and Delta offer some good deals from other cities. BWIA West Indies Airways isn't my favourite, but it offers some decent schedules for some of the other islands from JFK, Dulles airport in the Metro DC Area and Miami. Within the Caribbean you can get decent airfares from Liat and Caribbean Star. Air Jamaica is usually a top airline choice for their service, but if you're not going to Jamaica, consider the fact that when you travel to one of the other islands, you will have to stop in Jamaica first. |

I am from the Caribbean and trust me BWIA is terrible, you're cramped in the food is not good and there is alot of turbulence. The service is horrible, the air hostesses are so rude.
And do not use Carribean Star ist the same crap but much more cramped.
Use Virgin Atlantic, Delta, Air France or American Airlines. If Virgin Atlantic gets delayed they put you up in the Ritz or The Hilton for free. |

I would say BWIA, they have been in business for over 60 years, serves the best food, have yet to crash and treat you like a friend |

Well considering that American has a southern hub in miami and a large operation in San juan inherited from TWA and their own presence on top of that, I would say they are the best airline to choose if you are looking for convenience as they have the most flight options around the carribean. There are other smaller airlines that fly mostly around the islands but do you really want to trust one of those... plus with AA you can earn oneWorld miles. |
