Hey, I'm glad you are interested in Jamaica. I'm from Jamaica and i would say Negril (close to Montego Bay), which has seven miles of white sand beach, which is really great. and lots of other attractions. However I live a far distance from Negril so I don't know much about the attractions but there is a really great water-park down there by the name of Kool Runnings you can search up that on google to learn more. The tourist destination that i know about is Ocho Rios, very nice place to be and is great for shopping at the various craft markets. There is also Dunn's River falls there which is very unique, it has a fall at the mouth of the river where it enters the see. The falls is sooo beautiful, its a one in million experience. There is also dolphin cove in ocho rios where you can have fun with dolphins as well as other exotic animals. You can also tale the helicoptor tour at Island village, it cost $350 and $500 depending on wich plan you want to choose. also there is magaritaville where you can go to part in Island Village and enjoy the various shops in there. any way one of the nicest thing to do is to walk the roads of Ochi and tour the shops, thats fun.there is also a plave wher you can go to gamble, lots of slot maching if you into that , the place is called 'treasure hunt' on main street Ocho Rios. There is also Green Grotto cave near by. You can also drive through fern gully, which is a lush natuaral canopy over the road made by ferns growing on the road sides. But you would have to make special arrangements to get to Ocho Rios, as there we only have two international airports in the island, one in Mo Bay and in Kingston, you can just drive there it's on the north coast).

We have two major cities in Jamaica, Kingston (the capital) and Montego Bay. Personally I reccommend Montego Bay of these as it is dubbed the "tourist capital". Montego Bay is beautiful! Wondeful beaches, great hotels and there are numerous attractions both by day and night. I don't know much about Mo Bay as I live at the eastern end of the island but the times that i've been there were always memorable! It is soo beautiful!! Well, Jamaica on a whole is extremely beautiful!!! Kingston on the other hand is mainly for business, but there are superb hotels and wonderful resturants, not to mention the various nighttime attractions!

There are endless things to do in Jamaica, but since your stay is limited I think Mo Bay is best for you.

For the guy that had that experience ,im sorry about that but you were wrong to do that, i myself hate that, and its about time we as people of the world put differences aside and live together as one. Our national Motto in jamaica is ' Out of many one people' and we all of different races live together as one in ja and thats what makes us so special.

for parties and culture, kingston...For good beaches and relaxation, Negril. That said you can stay in kingston and travel to Montego Bay once or twice to see Dunns River and Dolphin Cove, then you'll have the best of both worlds...and to the first guy that answered, what do you expect if you say the N word in Jamaica, you're lucky all you got is a hard time. This is Jamaica, not your country...Wi no ramp!!!

Negril, St Ann (Dunn's River), Ochio Rios dem a the best part fi go. The first person who posted his view! Its not every part of Jamaica that have thieves! Not every country is perfect! I am sure every country has thieves who goes into people pockets and steal everyday including yours and I don't appreciate you disrespecting my country! and using the N word as well, it was plain rude, you must know say people in Jamaica doesn't tolerate racists! or prejudices!

I live in Montego Bay, but I wouldn't suggest you confine yourself to one city.

We have Negril, Montego Bay, Port Antonio,Ocho Rios as our most popular cities in addition to other exciting places and destinations.

Each area adds a different flavour.

Moreover within each city, you also have activities for different tastes, whether it is water falls, historic sites, beaches & rivers, caves, adventure sites, etc.

Promise me you won't limit yourself.

Here are some additional things or places that might interest you while in our country:

Negril or Montego Bay the best, for vacation I would say Negril if you really love the beach, however more things are in Montego bay to do, lots of places to go and there is Doctors cave and aqua Sol beach, Coral Cliff, blue Beat margaritta and negril is only an hour drive so you can also visit Negril.

Negril!! Airport security is better now. Have the conceirge at the airport find you a cab. Get the price first, tell cabbie no stopping on the way. They take you to roadside traps along the way, but be nice. There is alot of crime there. Only book tours through the resorts. Go easy on the meat the first couple of days. It's a shock to the system. I've been 3 times. LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I don't know but when you get off the plane, make sure you watch your wallet. Im not prejudice but in the first ten minutes I got in a fight and yelled out the N word...my mistake.

This guy gave my girl a hard time cause we wouldnt take his cab, and he said, "oh i see, you white folk too good for us..then said something to the extent of get off my island.." I was shocked, and lost my temper after a scary plane ride. WE had mad turbulence that day.

The whole flight home, I kept apologizing to Bob Marley for saying the N word, surely he was going to make our plane go down.

Everytime I have a prejudice feeling, I surpress it by imaging Jimi Hendrix hitting me over the head with his guitar.
