What is the best island to go to for New Years?

I'm planning a getaway for New Years Eve and its also my birthday. I've been to Jamacia and the Bahamas so I don't really want to go there again. But I am taking a guy I've been involved with for a while so it would have to be somewhere more on the romantic side. Any ideas on what island we should go to?

Old years' night on Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands. It has been rated one of the top five new years' eve destinations in the world. Here's some more info:

How about that big island Australia? It will be summer down there and the weather will be GREAT!

I would recommend St. Thomas on the US Virgin Islands. It's absolutely beautiful! I have been to many islands, and this is by far my favorite. DEFinatly a great honey-mooner spot. So if you're taking your man, even better! I just went there this summer and the parties are awesome too. You will no doubt find a good new years party over there!

i know you don't want to go to jamaica again but if you've never been to treasure beach you should go there. theres cabins you can stay in its the real jamaica much nicer than the city's.

I suppose try Barbados. By the way, hurricane season is from June to end of November. I was in Barbados this year for my birthday. :)

I second Jost Van Dyke and Foxy's Old Year's Night. It's been named one of the best places to experience New Year's. You could charter a boat from Tortola with crew and sail over. If you do this, though, I would recommend arriving a few days early and anchor in the harbor. The harbor fills up quickly! Oh, and by the way, Hurricane season is from June 1-November 30. No worries!

Sandals St. Lucia !! It's 3 hrs south of the Bahama's. OMG..white sandy beeches, crystal clear water....complete paradise without a doubt!!
