The islands of Culebra and Vieques in Puerto Rico are perfect to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city. beautiful beaches, no commercial establishments (e.g. McDonalds).

Saba, Nevis and Anguilla are also good choices.

Punta Cana in Dominican Republic. An all-inclusive resort would be your ideal relaxing, do nothing type vacation. The beaches are wonderful under the palms reading a book or maybe a massage on the beach.

Any of the resorts on Bavaro beach would be a good choice. Check out the resorts and reviews on tripadvisor.com

Good Luck and enjoy)

I would start with a nice all-inclusive resort if you simply want to relax. Jamaica and Dominican Republic are well-known for their all-inclusives.

I also would avoid some of the more well-developed islands because they can get a bit busy and touristy, such as St. Thomas, Cancun and the Bahamas.

But the most relaxing of all our vacations down there actually wasn't at a true resort. It was the Marriott Renaissance on Aruba.

They own a small island off the coast called Renaissance Island that has two small man-made coves, flamingoes, parrots, etc. The hotel boats people over in about 10 minutes.

It's the only vacation we have ever taken when we didn't do anything because we were so relaxed. Once you get there, you don't budge.
