Dunns River. It's touristy but it's great. You don't have to climb it in the "human chain". They will tell you this but you can climb it on your own. There is an admission fee, under $10 last time I went. You can rent lockers there to keep your things in and take good shoes as the rocks are slippery or you can rent water shoes there for $5. There is a Margaritaville but really expensive and overrated and too touristy. Your resort is nice, we stayed there once. There is alot to do there but make sure you get out of the confines and see Jamaica. Don't be afraid to leave the resort, just use common sense. You can hire a driver in the parking lot and agree on a price before you go anywhere. Make sure the vehicle has RED tags. This is a licensed transport vehicle. Bob Marley's birthplace and tomb are about an hour away in Nine Mile. It's great if you are a fan. If you book a tour through the resort you'll pay more and share the ride with alot of other people. Go into town and eat at Juicy Patty. It's Jamaica's fast food and it's great and cheap. You can also go snorkeling from the resort over some reef. I went out on the little sailboats, that was fun too. |

Relax! Enjoy the water. Stay away from the tourist traps. Meet as many people as you can. Get a massage overlooking the ocean.
We have been to Jamaica three times...and it's gotten better each time. Check out the website below. It has tons of information on vacationing in Jamaica!
Have Fun! We are jealous! LOL |

I stayed there and it is quite amazing, there food and service is impeccable. There is lots to do on site, however i suggest ski-doing which is not apart of the all inclusive but it's well worth the extra $4000JD. If you tell the guys you reside in Jamaica they will charge you about half of that.
If you do decide to do this activity, you should ask the rider who takes you to take you by the fresh water falls, it's heavenly. Enjoy |

You can have the time of you life.I just got married in Jamaica and had what they call a Wedding moon at The Hedonism 3 Resort In Runaway the transfer you will take to Ocho Rios(keep in mind when you get there they will call your last stop O Ri).But what you do is hit the tour desk on you first day.My hubby and I went to dolphin cove and did "The Encounter" with the dolphins, the admission to dolphin cove allows you to snorkel with stingrays, hold exotic birds, enjoy the jungle backdrop it's alot to do for the price we were at dolphin cove 6 hours and wanted more. The Honeymoon ride is a must offered by Hooves(horseback riding) now the ride is a bit long but the light at the end of tunnel is worth it.They take you on a guided tour each of you on your own horse, they pack light lunch and wine and guide you to the coast and its' beautiful as you approach,You eat and do whatever the guide leaves you for as long as you agree to and he comes back if you want strip to swimwear and your stallion will safely take you in the blue water for a ride.If you style is a little wicked the nude booze cruise in O Ri is great.(A party boat where everyone is nude nothing crazy to worry about)Dunn's River Falls is always talked about we went and I regretted it is along way up and you don't have to be fit but it sure as hell helps.Hey if you want I have pics of these thing email me and let me know willing to share. |

i've been going to vacation to Jamaica ever year for the past 20 yrs.(have also been to just about every island in the Caribbean)
the sandals resort in Ocho is in a great location the beach is breath taking so your going to love that! its also just a short boat ride to the sight where they shot the james bond movie "Dr. Know" . also a short cab ride to the shopping area in ocho rios. one thing you'll definitely want to see the "luminous lagoon" in Falmouth(about a 1 hr. drive) its one of the most fascinating places on earth the water has the same phosphorus element as fireflies have so when you touch it- it lights up. if your feeling especially energetic go to dunns river falls and join the human chain climbing them. For a romantic dinner try Evita's its high up in the mountains over looking the city (at night its really beautiful). i'm gonna also suggest you go to jamaicatourist.net for accurate info (its the islands official site) and lastly get to know as manJamaicansns as you can its such a beautiful interesting culture and you'll make some lifelong friends.have a great vacation |

To answer your question.. "What is the best thing to do in Jamaica".. my answer is... TAKE THE NEXT PLANE TO A NICE ISLAND IN THE CARIBBEAN.. preferably some place without the heavy hormone crowd and all their drugs and crime. |
