I suggest you buy a cheap ticket to Jamaica and Stay at a nice Hotel preferably in negril. The prices of inns and hotels range from $4000-8000 Jamaican per night for each person. With $4000 place being good and 8000 being exotic. There are lots of exciting things to do in the day and Margarita ville is the place to go at night. Have fun

I have been to Jamaica 3 times. I have always stayed at all inclusives. I think this is the best deal as normally, food and drink is pretty expensive in the islands due to transportation issues. It's also nice knowing that there will be no bill when you leave. I have stayed in Runaway Bay and Negril. The beaches are a lot better in the Negril area. If you are going to party. Not knowing when you plan to travel, there are some really good specials at SuperClubs (Breezes, Grand Lido, and Hedonism 2 and 3. I just stayed for 6 nights at Hedo 2 for $960.00 all inclusive. Not the Ritz but clean. I would suggest that you investigate different resorts based on what you like. For instance, Hedo is for the party crowd. They offer a nude side and a prude side on the beach. They have separate sections also for pools and hot tubs. Grand Lido also offers separate areas. A couple changed from Lido to Hedo because Lido was dead. I dont think much of the restaurants in Jamaica. Thats another reason I stick with All Inclusive.
The food at these resorts vary. It is good but not great. You will normally be offered several dining options in even the smaller resorts.

Riu Palace runs a great upscale property. I think they are one of the best AA resort chains. Stayed at their Playa del Carmen property twice and was impressed by their dining options and food quality.

If you are going during a time when school is out, I would suggest one of the resorts that are for adults only. You and your girlfriend shouldnt have to been surrounded by screaming kids for your vacation.

And, I would never go down there without reservations. Jamaica is not the US. Dont expect to jump from Holiday Inn to Hampton inn checking out prices. Do your negotiating from home. Try Expedia or Priceline to see what the going offers are and go from there.

It has always been less expensive to buy a combination hotel and air...as travel agents are able to get the best discounts.
Its worth it if you can afford and all inclusive.
An agent who know Jamaica may ask you your likes and dislikes to select one of our many hotels.
Wild & crazy Hedonism...If you are not do not go there you will hate it.

Royal Decameron club caribbean its a all inclusive resort in the ochi rios area everything you need is right there plus its cheap for what it overs and yes its right on the beach and if you don't like that don't worrry they have 2 pools 1 for adults and another for kids.

I have been to Jamaica twice and loved both times. I flew on delta, air jamaica and u.s. air. I suggest out of the three, u.s. air. they were the most dependable arrival and departure wise. only thing is, if you are flying into montego bay, air jamaica is the only airline with baggage claim carousels, every other airline puts your luggage into a pile and you have to find it.

I also suggest staying at an all-inclusive, they are the best deals. I stayed at BREEZES MONTEGO BAY, loved it! And you can book everything together on their website.

But Jamaica was absolutely worth the time and money. ENJOY!

It depends on what deals are going, hotels charge more at local rate most of the time.

Just buy some plane tickets and then negotiate something when you get there. Just don't go walking around Kingston looking like tourists. You may want to do some online research first to give you an idea of where you want to go.. but once you are there... standing across the counter from the check in person.. with money in your hand.. you can get DEALS you can't get on the internet.

I have never yet found some place where I could not get a better price IN PERSON than I could off the internet... just be prepared to walk on down the road to the next place and LET THEM KNOW IT.
