The water is clear bright turquoise, and hardly any waves.

From the top of the water, you can see at least 60 feet to the bottom.

If you filled up a water bottle with caribbean water, it would look like clear drinking water (but it's loaded with salt).

The beach sand is cool (not hot).

Wherever there are rich, there must be poor. There are little middle-class. All islands have a mixture, and some are highly imbalanced by the percentage. A few islands are separated by different countries on either end, and one country might be poor while the other country might be rich.

If the country is mostly inhabited by wealthy, the cost of living (and visiting) will be expensive. And, if visiting a poor caribbean nation, the expenses will be moderately low, however the living conditions and environmental surroundings (crime, disease, poverty, transportation, facilities) will reflect that as well.

Mostly, the people enjoy FRESH seafood.

The Caribbean is beautiful, indescribably so. I've visited several islands, but spent a week in Barbados and a month in Jamaica. Barbados is probably the most progressive of all the islands, politically and economically. Jamaica is poor, as are most of the islands, but rich in beauty, music, art, and culture. The people are friendly. In Jamaica the people eat, among other things, curried goat, fresh fish, plantains, calalou, ackee & saltfish, oxtail soup, bammy, fresh fruits. Many people have small gardens. Everything moves in its own sweet rhythm under the sun, beside the blue, effervescent water. Paradise!

The Caribbean is a very big area which comprises many islands surrounded by water. The majority of them if not all of them depend on tourism as the main money earner but still a few export sugar, rum, rum-based products, bananas, plantains, mangoes among other things.

The people are very friendly since that is our nature. we are very open and helpful as well. Some islands like Barbados economy is very stable as well as politically making it good place for offshore investors. It has a strong industrial climate and the cost of living is very high. It is also a luxurious destination.

There are many international stars that make their home in the Caribbean because of the never-ending summer. To say that the islands are poor or rich is not true. Anywhere you go you will find a people from all strata of society.

We eat some of the foods that you eat like Kentucky because we are very modernized but we prefer our own culture. All island have their own unique main dishes. T&T have Callaloo, Barbados have Cou Cou (made with corn meal and okras)and Flying Fish, Pudding (made with sweetpotato, herbs, sugar, colouring mixed up and steamed) and Souse (pork) and Fish Cakes among others.

To mailie_xoxo we are NOT NEANDRATHALS. We have houses made of cement and not wood and leaves. We have big two storey hoses like anyone else.Sure we have crime and violence but there are a lot of good about the caribbean,Its mostly warm here except in December when the cold winds from North America blow down here.Hurricane season is from June 30 to November 1st. We Caribbean people love spicy food so if you dont like pepper you get "jook" as we say. When we season food we put more on it than the little salt and pepper you see dem sprinkle on the meat on Food Network. I am Jamaican so ill tell you wat we eat: patty(which is a pastry curst filled with meat),manish water (a type of soup using goat),stew peas with salt beef and rice, curry goat,of course jerk chicken and pork,potato pudding,corn pudding,grater cake(made wth coconut) and drops (also made with coconut.

The Caribbean islanders are mostly poor. Their income comes from exporting bananas,, coconuts, spices like Nutmeg and Mace; Also processing sugar cane for sugar-and making rum for export.They are visited by tourists/cruise passengers- so the people that own the mini-buses and give tours of the island make a very good income. I have visited a few islands like St Lucia, St Thomas,Barbados, Tortola, Dominica, Antigua etc. They are very beautiful. Barbados is used as a base for many wealthy Brits with holiday homes. Dominica is the most unspoilt, undeveloped and beautiful. I would love to live there. One of the islanders staple diets here is a huge frog-forget what it is called. Apparently it tastes like chicken.

ooo i know because ive experienced it for about 2 weeks before. i went on a cruise and i flew to a nother island. carribean life would be so magical. they make their housing and shelter by building a shelter, from wood, leaves, vines, grass, animal hides. and they hunt animals to eat. and the drink is probably just water...unless they create some kind of erb and treat into a drink and create some kind of drink. and the ppl are ordinary ppl with a different culture.
