What is the cheapest time of year, city, and airline to fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico? |
Me and my wife plan on celebrating our honeymoon down in San Juan next year. We plan on spending majority of our money in Puerto Rico and not on getting there. I have a few questions that you may be able to answer and if not, could you forward this to someone who can?

To begin it all depends where are you traveling from. The best time to go to PR if you don't want to pay a high fare is between May-October. The airlines with best rates to PR depending on your departure city are Continental, American Airlines, Delta.
I am going in June next year and got my tickets round trip for $238.00 with taxes. Happy hunting. |

Puerto Rico is a great destination to celebrate your honeymoon. In Puerto Rico low season starts in May - October this is when you will get the lowest prices (hotel and airfare). If you travel from the east coast (New York, Miami, Orlando, ...) you will have a good chance to find low rates. From those cities I know that Jet Blue, Spirit, and United prices are very reasonable. My favorite is AA but you need to play with the dates to get the best fare. Visit www.gotopuertorico.com for more info. |

The best time of the year to fly to PR is non weekend, non holiday....for the weather I prefer Jan and Feb..gets hotter and higher humidity later in the spring and summer....Fall is hurricane season so not usually a good choice. I can usually get really cheap tickets on the internet in February-March. Continental and American fly in at least 2 times a day, both ends of the Island. Continental flys direct from Newark and its been awhile, but I think American flys direct from their hub in Atlanta. |
