Mostly tourism. Some of the islands have agricultural products as well such as sugar cane and bananas.
A few of the islands, such as Curacao also profit from large oil reffinaries.

This is just a brief over view of the region.
Bahamas,Jamaica,Cayman islands,Dom Rep,Barbados,St,Lucia, Grenada ,Dominica,Antigua.
For all those islands above Tourism is the main engine of their economies.
Services is also a big player in Bahamas Caymans islands,Jamaica Barbados and Antigua which would amount to second in their GNP.
Agriculture has taken a back seat in all the islands mentioned above except for Dom, Rep, Haiti ,Dominica, Grenada or spice island made famous for its nutmegs.
Remittances also comes in at large third in most islands,which dose not feature in Cayman which is by far the wealthiest islands in the region,however they are dependencies of great Britain or Barbados but to a lesser degree.
Salt mining however still plays major role in Anguilla and Turks Caicos islands respectively but lesser than tourism.

For Trinidad and Tobago its oil and other oil base products which accounts for more than 50% of its GNP/Gross national product,while Tobago is dominated by tourism.
This is the reason why its the most wealthy in terms of any independent Carib,island which has a strong Manufacturing sector,now coupling with services.

As for Cuba Tourism is becoming a major player it made over 9 billion in previous years ,however agriculture holds strong.

At one time Jamaica had aluminum, but during the Manley era the US (the #1 buyer of the product and owners mines)stoped using Jamaican Alum.,Manley did bussiness with Cuba, so coffee(& some HERB)have become the #1 product...Sugar is big in DR.....Turism is the number one money maker for most.....Even Cuba depends on turism

Tourism and Agriculture for most of the smaller caribbean countries. Trinidad & Tobago depends more on its energy sector - oil, & natural gas. Cuba is mainly agriculture also.

the cayman island tourism but a large part is banking, grand cayman is 22 miles long but has over 500 banks on the island, at one time cayman was, and is still regarded as one of the top finiancial capitals of the world.
