The shuttles stop at all the hotels to drop off their passengers, so it'll take about 2 hours. But in REAL time, its an hour drive from Mobay to Ochi.
Taxi ( route ) is cheap, but takes you to Falmouth....then to Discovery Bay...then to Ochi.
Taxi ( charter ) is a complet rip off...between $100 & $150 one way.
Stay with the shuttle, its only $25 |

You can spend a lot of money in a taxi if you allow the driver to overcharge you. Be sure to compare rates before you allow him/her to drive you. The trip is roughly between 110-115 miles and should take a little more than 90 minutes, but no more than 2 hours in my experience. Have fun! |

I have known a driver from Montego Bay for 16 years. He is based in Montego Bay and has driven the actors for several locally filmed movies. He worked on the "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" set. You can call him direct at 876-700-1887. His name is Jarrett and he is certified by JUTA and the Jamaica Tourist Board. I don't know the price but you can always ask. The road is much better to Ocho Rios now so it may be a little faster than before. I would still count on 2 hours. |

The approximated drive time from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios is 1hr and 30 min...it may take you a little more depending on the traffic and delays....IT WOULD BE SPEEEDING AND DANGEROUS DRIVING TO GET YOU FROM MONTEGO BAY TO OCHO RIOS IN 1 HR ..!!!!
It would be recommended that you take the shuttle bus if you are seeking to make the trip cheaper. but the benefits of a taxi allows you to do alot more...
The Shuttle Bus may range from US$30 with an additional cost for luggages...while a taxi may range from US$110 upwards depending on who you speak with..it may even cost you less that US$110

I hired a car when I was there two years ago and it took us just over two hours to get there. It's a pretty straightforward route. In regards to the expense of a taxi, the answer is yes and no. Yes, if you don't know anyone because tourists get ripped off quite easily but 'no' if you know someone who knows someone.
