There is rarely a low season in the Caribbean. Most times people are scared to visit the islands when its hurricane season but that doesn't stop them from coming though. I must admit that there is a peak in tourist visits in September - January when it is cold where they live. They want to escape to the islands to enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches and sunshine. |

For most islands low seasons start from April 15 to Dec 15. Some start from May to November. Some really don't have a low season. Whenever there is low season most hotels remodel and give their staff much needed vacation. |

From September to the 2nd week of December, and from the 2nd week of January to the 2nd week of June, its low season. |

You just missed what might be called the low season, as we come to the end of hurricane / rainy season.
But really, Barabados for one - goes pretty steady all year long. Though I will admit the prices go up, almost to the day, on Dec 15th and last through April.
On another note, the sun passes over us in July = hot and humid, then heads north coming back over us in Sept, again hot and humid. Now we are enjoying cooler temps and coming to the end of the rain. |

July, August and September. You can find lots of bargains at that time but be aware it is Hurricane season so a land vacation could be interuppted or cancelled and a cruise vacation could change ports of call |

If your meaning "LOW" as in price....I would say Sept/November. WE (2) adults cruised to the bahamas for a week for only $699.00 two years ago on Carnival. They say that is the slow seaSON. |

Well let me tell you i live in the Carribean. There isn't a low season, because while there is cold in the North -USA- (like December) its cold in the South - Argentina -(July -August), so all the seasons are good here. I am one of those people that really like knowing the country, so i usually go on weekends to know a new place or resort, and let me tell you, that there are some hotels that i havent been able to do a reservation yet, because they are full of tourist. Hope this help you. |

Sorry, but I need to disagree with "Sufi" by saying "No one goes there during hurricane season". This isn't true at all. Is it there low season, absolutely. There are several that go here though! As an agent I always recommend for that time of year for people that really want to minimize there chances of a hurricane hitting there island is to go to the Southern Caribbean islands.
It has to do with the water temps that cause "most" hurricanes to reach so far South and they do tend to dissipate down to a Tropical Storm. Is this guaranteed? Of course not. But when is the last time you heard St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Barts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Etc. on the news for a hurricane? Not TO often...that's why most haven't even heard of these islands. We always tend to hear about Bahamas, Florida, Cancun, Cozumel, Caymans, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico....these are all farther North.
This is another great reason to strongly consider travel insurance as there is coverage in there for these reasons it just varies between the different companies.
Now with Southern Caribbean islands, these are always going to tend to cost more especially for the flight and well hotel as well. There are limited carriers to many of these islands is why.
Another option during hurricane season I would suggest is cruising. Therefore your itinerary might be changed due to weather either before you travel say if an island is ravished or during to avoid the ship going into waters that there IS a hurricane. You may end up seeing the same port of call twice or lose one is the risk you take this time of year. It is for everyone’s safety though. As far as shore excursions if a port is changed you don't have to worry about it as you do get your money back.
I have been to the Caribbean SEVERAL times during Hurricane season and honestly I have had one time it rained hard and that was at night. A few showers here and there. Typically those can be a bit refreshing with the hot weather though and there normally quite short and warmer rain.
Have a Great Time if you go then! Remember passports required as of Jan 8th 2007. |

nobody goes there during hurricane season...
because of that risk...
i'd say that's their lowest time, followed by summer.
winter, holidays, spring break is heavy time. |
