To ensure tourists spend their cash within that resort and don't venture beyond it. unless of course it has been organised by the resort |

the pupose of all inclusive is that you pay no more
How it works is here at home you book a packet - airfare - hotel - and any extras - when ou get to your destinations you have no need for any more spending except the personal gifts or gagets you mmay want but for your vacation there is no need - all activities are included |

all inclusive are good if your on a budget you need very little spending money. If you take the kids on holiday they want drinks ice cream etc and if you like a drink yourself this is all included in the price. As an individual you will have to work out what is best for you. and theres no washing up like the old self-catering |

i dont understand why people go to a beautiful country and then go stay in an all inclusive hotel, for 2 weeks you eat none stop and drink none stop spend most of there time at the pool and maybe once or twice they go out the hotel on a cram packed bus drive for hours get off for a short time and then go back to hotel, thats all well and good, but i dont no y people do that, they miss out on so much of there holiday, the piont in going to another country is to see there way of life, to be part of them if only for a short while, see the world people not hotels, live there life let them show you how they live, its so great, if you did that instead of getting p i s s e d 24/7 then when you get home you'll feel like you had a holiday instead of needing another week off work to recover lol lol |

All-inclusive resorts cater to a certain type of traveler.....those that want to arrive in their destination of choice and don't want fuss over carrying cash around, finding transportation around town, figuring out tip amounts, etc. They basically want to arrive, unpack their bags, get on the beach, and not move for the entire duration of their vacation!
I also think that if you're a big alcohol drinker and you love eating, going with an all-inclusive will usually save you a bundle of $$$.
We spent 10 days at an all-inclusive in Negril for our honeymoon. We're big drinkers/eaters so it was well worth it. However, we did make it a point to leave the resort for a few days and check out some "off the beaten path" places. We hung with locals, ate at tiny little roadside shacks, etc. So, I feel like we got the best of both worlds. |

I can see its benifits....
Im doing 14 days in Jamaica pretty soon. 6 Nights Touring Jamaica and 8 Nights 'all-in' at my chosen resort.
Im doing 'all-in' because it appeals to my nature to have a great beach which is feet from a great hotel that serves great food 24/7 and provides all my drinks on-tap.
Its all about being a lazy, spoilt tourist, with everything i want on my doorstep basking in the memory of what was a great week prior.
You know it makes sense ;0) |
