The Puerto Rican Peso.....Also Know as the Great American Dollar is worth 100 pennies....

Heidi
Actually I agree with one of the posters above, I think the asker is confused because we DO call the dollar a "peso" (most of the time) even though it's just a plain old dollar. Maybe she heard a Pueto Rican talking and she misunderstood. So, i'll give her the benefit of the doubt. However, if she REALLY asked because she wasn't aware of PR's political status.......WOW..just..WOW.

Daly
We don't use "pesos" here in Puerto Rico .. we use the same currency as the USA... American Dollar $ !!!

We are part of the US !

Sometimes ppl over here in the island instead of calling it a dollar (dólar - in spanish) they call it "peso" but is just a name ... we use american dollars like I said before.

=o)

short2stuff1922
Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States of America and since the United States took over in 1898, we have been using the good old American Dollar. So, there is no money change here.
Many think that since Puerto Rico is still discussing it's status, we use Euros, or some other type of money. We use the American Dollar here. What does need changing are the Euros, Dominican Republic money, Cuban money and from other countries non-American.
So don't worry about changing money. The dollar is a dollar here.

LaBella
First of all... it is spelled Puerto Rico.... the Enchanted Island...a territory of the United States. We use American Dollars....we are American Citizens. ...Where do you think Puerto Rico is located? it is no jungle.......by the way... we have electricity, running water, beautiful hotels,.and more... and we speak English...it's our Second Language!!
