I have been to Jamaica a few times. The first time I went, I was there for about 3 1/2 weeks doing all kinds of humanitarian work. I loved it so much I did not want to come home!!
Statistically speaking, the first week of september and the last week are best.
The WORST week to book for is the week of september 11. We have had TOO MANY hurricanes and near misses on or about that date.
If there are no storms within 400 miles, the weather is usually excellent. Just some afternoon showers to worry about.

There may be rain. Thats during our rainy season. But the rains doesnt last for long and it is still nice and warm.

Aside from being hurricane season, it will rain a little bit because it is hurricane season. What is nice about Islands, is that it only rains for 10 to 15 minutes and then clears up and it is sunny again. The weather will be nice and warm as well.
Don't worry about hurricane season. I have traveled to the Carribean during hurricane season and it has been okay and we had a blast. The equipment in the ocean is so complex and good that they can give warnings days in advance to get out of there. Don't let a hurricane ruin your vacation.
Have fun!!!

It always rains that time of year. My advice to you is to keep an eye on the weather reports, check it daily.

Very hot if you are coming from a cool area.
We do have a sea breeze, and it cools down a bit at night, but if you don't like hot weather go at another time.
Jamaica does not have those high muggy 100's.
