What is the weather like in punta cana in the dominican republic in july?

I went in September and although it wasn't as hot as it will be when you go the weather was kinda weird. When we arrived at around 3 ish it was the worst thunder storm I have ever seen and the rain was horrendous. I could have cried!

But not to worry!

Basically everyday was extremely hot and sunny and about 3 it turned to a storm but by then it was such a welcome. It helps clear the air and cools it down a bit. It was amazing to watch we don't get thunder and lightening like it in the UK. It stops after an hour and the rain dries up real quickly. It is so bizarre and the rain is warm if you stand out in it it is like being in a shower. I have a bit of a fascination with lightening and watching it from my veranda was amazing.

You are gonna have a wonderful time it is such a beautiful place.

Well You are right at the moment it is very rainy and usually it is sunny especially in July hopefully you will not have to worry just keep checking the weather on yahoo and type in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic it gives you the next 10 day for cast and you can also see the temperature highs and lows for the next month which will be July... I checked it out and the temperature for July will be about 86 -90! But If You go to punta cana it is a Gorgeous area I am Dominican and that is my favorite in the whole island!

what does it matter? you would be on one of the most beautiful islands in all of the carribean. weather and time have no meaning.

I have never been there, but because it closer to the equator then Florida, I would suspect it is hot, humid and prone to thunderstorms and because it is in the Caribbean it is in a major hurricane zone.

i am from Dominican republic and i can tell you that it is a great place. i have been to punta cana many times and its a great resort with beautiful beaches and excellent tropical weather. in July its hot but you wont mine it because you will be having so much fun that you will forget about the heat.

I have been to Punta Cana in July, the weather was great. you will get rain in tropical islands but the rain doesnt last long - couple of hours a day or so., other than that, the sun is always out and gets very hot. I was there for 2 weeks, it only rained once! Got tanned!
