What is there to do in San Juan, Puerto Rico?

(I'll be there for ONLY one day in April 2008) I want to make the most of that day...We are going to be there from just 5 pm- 12am.

What is there to do during those times?? Also, any recommendations for places/things to see?

thanks ^-^

Is it a tuesday? If yes, head to san Cristobel fort to catch the weekly local music and dance show - starts at 6pm

Otherwise - take a stroll around Old San Juan. It is not that large, so you will be able to see a lot and must of the interesting buildings will be lit. El Morro is spectacular no matter what time you see it.

Take a stroll along the Paseo la Princesa promenade - if its a weekend there should be local artisans and music there.

Grab dinner at one of the great restaurants - Parrot Club, DragonFly, Tapas bar in El Convento.

With this kind of time. There is not much you can do. Go visit the old town, walk around and have a nice dinner there. The food is excellent. You will find a few shops open and get yourself a souvenir.I was there once and it was very charming so it is worth if if you are into food and culture.

If you had a bit more time, i would say the beaches are fantastic so spend some time there. If you were into serious fishing, and had weekend to spend of more, they run Marlin and Sailfish trips from there. They are very expensive ($1000 for two days straight) but still well worth it for they are the experince of a lifetime!

You can check to see when the tours are for the bioluminescent bay. There is one on the mainland and another on Vieques.

There are restaurants open and some shops. The Forts, museums and historical places will be closed because you will be here after hours. But you can walk up or take the free trolley ride up to the Morro Fort, then walk down to see the past in the styles of the streets, the homes and how things were back then. Along the way you can eat here and there and taste the different foods from here. If you want to sit and eat, I can suggest Barra China Restaurant which is traditional foods from here, Mojitos, and a few others.

With that kind of schedule stick to the Old San Juan. There are restaurants, museums, historic sites, souvenirs shops and very nice boutiques. Have fun!

You will be there for one evening. I would go to dinner, to the casino or club. You only have 6 hours. You should be back to the ship by no later than11 (at least a hour before departure)

enjoy)

You must go to Condado and Isla Verde area both have plenty of trendy and local restaurants and some of the best clubs of the island. Also you will see the best hotels and bar of the San Juan area. Also is a must to visit the Old San Juan - this is an area with lots of our culture and art galleries, local and puertorrican food. Enjoy.
