Virgin Islands...part of U.S., so you don't need a passport; that can be a big benefit. Wonderful aqua water, warm. Try to rent a timeshare; you'll have a nice one or two bedroom condo for the week.
Cayman Islands...expensive, but safe. When you arrive, you will have to show proof of a return airline ticket; that way, no one gets stranded. Most restaurants are good. Again, try to rent a time share; most are 2 bedroom. Try for Seven Mile Beach area; it is on the sheltered side of the island, and is where all the action is. For the unusual, you can travel down to 800 feet on the Cayman Trench in a research diving vessel. Awesome trip. Swim with the stingrays. Learn to scuba. Great snorkeling.
Bermuda...not quite the Caribbean, but in the summer, it is wonderful. VERY expensive (makes Grand Cayman look cheap). Excellent restaurants. Try Harmony Club. Some meals are included. Or, go there on a cruise ship. Food and lodging included for the time in port (about 5 days out of a seven day cruise).
These are the places that I have found are the safest (you can go waling at 2:00 AM and not be concerned). |

Barbados is a very popular place for honeymoons and the climate is just right for it. We have lovely beaches for you to relax in with clean water.
There is a variety of food and different restaurant serving up a variety of dishes for many countries. If it is the traditional food that you want you can get it right down to the national dish which is Cou Cou (corn meal cooked in okras) and flying Fish. Additionally there is pudding (sweet potatoes steam with herbs) and souse (any part of the pig including feet or ears). Rotis from Chefette restaurants are very popular especially all-beef. Macaroni Pie just the way Bajans prepare it is the best, cream potato, stew beef, stew chicken, bake chicken, ox tails, baked ham etc. You must come here to experience it for your self because it is too much to tell.
Activities are scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, educational tour of the island that include Harrison's Cave, west coast, Cherry Tree Hill, Morgan Lewis Mill, Bathsheba and St. John Parish Church etc. A pleasure cruise is a must as well as the Harbour Lights for the dinner show or partying. Tropical Spectacular at Plantations and Atlantis submarine are very popular.

Los Roques defenetly, its an archipielago in Venezuela, its absolutely gorgeus, stunning beaches white white sand and cristal waters, its so crystal that you can see the fishes and the corals, you can a lot of water sports like waterboarding windsurf diving snorkeling, at this season you can go there and enjoy all this on the cheap with few turist so it will be the closest expereince to a private island, in the little town you can find many ''posadas'' the town is so tiny end full of color, the sunset its amazing its a real romantic place |

Any of the Caribbean Islands are incredible. I have sailed to some of the most remote Caribbean Islands like, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Petit St. Vincent. These islands have little or nothing to resemble tourism. A couple of them have very pricey retreat resorts and if you can afford one I highly recommend them. You can get info. from Yahoo if you search The Grenadines. As for the more touristy islands like Jamaica the experience is different but equally as incredible ( from what friends have told me ). If you are looking for tourism with a little more seclusion, the Cayman Islands can offer that. The local food has its variety. Nothing was bad but we quickly learned to stay away from services that where feeding the masses. As for the activities, I'm sure many of the touristy places have all kinds of stuff but I know what filled all our days was sailing, fishing, cooking, eating, drinking, snorkeling, scuba, and the occasional ganja. |

Go to the island of ANGUILLA. You should check this place out ! its gorgeous, they have one of the best beaches in the world. This beach is called Shoal Bay East, but all 33 beaches on the island are gorgeous and romantic. This island is not very touristy so you can always find a part of the beach all to yourselves. I would reccomend you stay in Cap Juluca for the most romantic unforgettable honeymoon experience, this is were denise richards went for her honeymoon . Here is the website ,http://www.capjuluca.com. If this resort is not on your budget there are many others that are. This island is very small with about 12,000 residents and its a very small small island but it contains about 100 gourmet restaurants. There is not much to do on this island but eat awesome food and relax on the most perfect beaches in the world. There beaches have been compared to those in bora bora and maldives. The beaches in anguilla are amazing ! the sand is soft and bright white, the beaches are so tranquil crystal clear waters , with no seaweed and you could see the nail polish on your feet, its so unbelievable and you just have to be there, trust me you wont go wrong going here and its the authentic caribbean not some tourist trap. I have been to many beaches all over including Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Mazatlan, Rock Point, And Jamaica and Anguilla. Do some research on Anguilla its not that hard to get there, plus if you crave nightlife or shopping the island of St. Maarten is not very far just a 10 mintue ferry ride. |

ANTIGUA is my favourite. I don't know how deep your pockets are put a trip to Sandals Grande Antigua and its new Mediterranean village was awesome.
Now there is lots to do just at the resort: scuba diving, swimming in the pool or sea, casinos, hot tubs, spas, jet skiing, beach games like volleyball and the popular island beach cricket.
Or you can go to the city's capital, ST. John's. It is a small city put it has a big city feel. Lots of boutiques high end and low end. Jewellery in its duty-free shopping centre, Heritage Quay. You can try local foods like fungie (taste much better than it sounds) and ducana, and saltfish. And Antigua being a multi-cultural island, you can get jamaican jerk pork, Guyanese and Trinidad's roti or chinese, or syrian/lebanese food.
Antigua has lots to do and see whther you want a tourists experience or that of a local. |
