What is your favorite Carribean Island?

I've been to the Bahamas (when I was younger...and loved it @ The Atlantis)...Aruba (last year, loved it as well)...I want to go on vacation this summer with my girlfriend and have a fun time at night at bars or beaches but also a nice romantic place at the same time. Any ideas? What are your experiences at different islands and what do you suggest? I wouldn't mind going to either of the ones I suggested above again but I'm just curious and want to start researching other islands. Thank you
Additional Details
sorry for misspelling caribbean :-)

I have been to St. Johns (USVI), St. Barts, Grenada, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Cancun and the Bahamas.

St. Barts is by far the most enticing of all of these islands and a place for couples' making memories together. It has breathtaking beaches, breathtaking views and breathtaking prices. It is also one of the safest islands to spend time on. If you can afford it, by all means, splurge and go to St. Barts. The next recommendation I would have would be St. Johns in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I would avoid at all costs the Dominican Republic - a tremendous amount of crime and poverty.

Barbados - the best place in the world to be. Just ask Rihanna

GAMECOCKS!

Try Tobago !!!

My favorite is St. Lucia. It's very beautiful and relaxing. Plus the locals are friendly and know how to party and have a good time. My other favorite spot is Puerto Rico. It has the best of both worlds, tropical yet urban.

make a booking using this site : www.travelquestcaribbean.com and you can also seek info from them at info@travelquestcaribbean.com and I am sure that they can help you.
They can even give you a multi Island destination vacation eg. a few days in St. Lucia and another few days in Grenada including air fare betweet the Islands.
View the hotels on the site and make a booking. I would recomend Palm Haven Hotel in St. Lucia. www.key-res.com/reserve.php?grp=travques...

St. Lucia is amazing. Lots to do if you are the adventurous type or you can just relax on the beach. My husband (33) and I (30) went there for the first time in 2006 and have been back twice. The last time for 15 days! We love it there. I have lots of pictures and can answer any questions you may have about the island. The Caribbean is beautiful and I am sure that you will have an amazing time no matter which island you choose!

My favourite island is Cuba. I've been to other places and have enjoyed them too. For example, Barbardos is very beautiful and the water is gorgeous and is different at different parts of the island.
However, like I said, Cuba is by far my most favourite out of all the different places I've been. It is an amazing island, culturally, esthetically, and people-wise. The water is so clear, turquoise and calm, sand is so soft and powdery white...and the people are great! There is such warmth and hospitality and they love to enjoy themselves and 'live' whether their circumstances are trialsome or not.

Cuba is an extremely fun and romantic place. My personal favourite is Cayo Coco (the keys) and it's just amazing there. The resorts are fabulous and the staff wherever you go are top-notch...always make you feel welcome and at home. You end up making great friends and they truly never forget you. There is something about Cuba that just makes you want to keep going back again and again....that's why I say I love it there the most.

I'm not sure if you are a US citizen or not as it might make it a little difficult for you to travel there...but still not impossible. But I highly recommend Cuba. There is everything there that you would love to experience.
If though Cuba doesn't work for you, Barbardos is beautiful.

Even if it is the only Caribbean Island I have been to, I think the Grand Cayman Islands are my favorite islands. I stayed at a condo/resort called Harbour Heights ( http://www.harbourheightscayman.com/ ) and had the best time. The resort was very nice and the staff and people were very nice. It was very relaxing just sitting by the Seven Mile Beach and enjoying the view.

Take a look at their website and look at the photo gallery and see what activities they offer.

They are all great....

Like ice cream it depends what you like..

St. Maarten and St. Lucia are my favs.

Several reasons

1. Absolute beauty.... lots of blue water and pristine coast line.
2. Hill/ mountains so you can get a view from higher ground.
3. Safety these 2 islands are pretty safe.
4. Lots to do and great shopping.
5. Friendly people who welcome you and dont hound you like mexico or jamaica.

St. Thomas, stay at Frenchman's Reef Marriot. be sure to take boat ride over to St. John Island while you're there.

Grand Cayman!! Water is crystal clear, beaches are top notch! It's just the best and we've been to a dozen in the carbbean. Everyone is just so nice there.
