What IS IT with you people and PASSPORTS? After JUNE FIRST you WILL NEED A PASSPORT to RE-ENTER THE U.S. and that includes PUERTO RICO and the U.S.V.I. and you need a PASSPORT to go to any OTHER CARIBBEAN ISLAND NOW. |

You don't need for Hawaii, because is a US state. Also, you don't need for Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and American Samoa, because there are US territories.
Traveling to and from U.S. Territories. U.S. Citizens traveling to and returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the U.S. territory and do not need to present a passport.
U.S. territories include American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, Swains Island and U.S. Virgin Islands. |

Sticking with the virgin islands. If you are a U.S citizen then you do not need a passport but you will need one to travel to the British Virgin Islands. And if you are a British citizen then you do not need a passport to travel to the British Virgin Islands but you will need one to travel to the US Virgin Islands if you are a citizen of any other country then you will need a passport to travel to either set of Islands. This will be the same after June first for those that believe otherwise check out the link of the caribbean region where the passport card is required |

As long as you're a U.S citizen you don't need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands. Only a government issued picture id(ie drivers license) is required |

Pirataviejo is absolutely right.
After June 1st, all US citizens leaving the US (by any mode of transportation ) will need a valid passport to re-enter the US.
Also, some islands may require a passport to be able to get off the ship and enter the island.
If you're a US citizen, just invest in a passport. If you're over age 18, you can get one (if you're not denied for legal reasons) that's valid for 10 years. |

hawaii is the only country that you do not need a passport. this rule either just changed or it is changing in June. check before buying your ticket. if you need a passport very fast go to
www.expeditedpassports.com there you can get a passport with in 24 hours if needed. i have used this web site myself. but the issue date on your driver's license must for more than 6 months old to do this. |
