What races or ethnicities are there in Jamaica besides those of African descent?

Because apparently my aunt said her mom's family is from the Ukraine, but how in the world did someone from the Ukraine end up in Jamaica?! My father told me that she was Indian and Hispanic, which I think is more likely since she has a Hispanic last name "DeCosta"; IDK. I don't think my dad looks 100% (his father is White too). I am thinking they are probably Indo. Suggestions?

Anyway, 'Out of many one people' for real

Jamaica's population mainly consists of people of African and Afro-European descent, comprising 85% of the demographics. There are over 200,000 East Indians who make up 5.2% of the population. Over 33,000 Whites (mostly composed of 26,000 British, Irish, and Germans) make up 1.2% of the population. 70,000 Chinese make up 2.5% of the population, and over 20,000 Lebanese make up 0.7% of the population. Multiracial Jamaicans make up just under 250,000 or 6.2% of the population.
Immigration has been greatly rising from Cuba, Colombia, and other Latin American countries; 20,000 Latin Americans currently reside in Jamaica. 7,000 Americans also reside in Jamaica

hope the answer helped

People from all over the world end up in Jamaica. The Germans ended up there when there was trading via ships and impregnated many Jamaican women. There are quite a few Syrians, The former Labour party leader is Syrian. There are Chinese, Japanese, Italians and British in large quantities now residing in Jamaica so it is no surprise that there would be Ukranians living there too.

Jamaica is out of many one people, we are hybirdize with different cultural aspects and race there is not a specific set of ethnicity in jamaica becuase we are mixed with african european and south american but most of our population is from african decent my forefathers on my father side were irish and my mother side is syrian thats y most of my ppl are half white. before and after slavery there was a mass migration of europeans all types, german britian irish asian and indain u name it migrated to to the caribbean to find better living and a fresh start becuase they figure the caribbean wud give them opportunities. becuase of the large amount of hybirdization u will find a white man with a muslim name like abdul or a balck man name chin or lee or even spanish or indian with english name so it kinda goes way back. the pirates on the other hand from europe settled in port royal yup so from way back before slavery u had eropean migating and visting jamaica yup. I AM A JAMAICAN SO I KNOW MY HISTORY LOL....LOL Hope it helps

Look everybody and every ones aunt went to Jamaica from way way back, I would not be surprised to see that someone had a Russian in the family tree that has a connection with Jamaica. yes it is possible do some family tree back tracking and you will find out one way or the other.

Names like daCosta, Henriques, Fernandes, Matalon, in the Caribbean are descended from Spanish & Portugese Jews who were exiled from Spain & Portugal during the Inquisition. Some were Spanish Jews exiled to Portugal, but boatloads were exiled to Jamaica.

Many people fled the Ukraine to escape communism.I know several families with the last name DeCosta and they're of Portuguese decent(sorry to throw another option in the mix) the prefix De is very common to the Portuguese. Also i've met several German families in Jamaica that have been there for generations.I have family that live their after fleeing Cuba in 1960 and after tracing their roots found out they're of Basque decent(Spain not France). i suggest you go to one of the several genealogy websites to try and find out who your ancestors are and where they're are from.good luck it sounds like you have a very interesting background !
