What should I expect on my first trip to Trinidad? |
My family is originally from Trinidad, but i was raised in America and have never been there before. I don't know too much about the culture but am very excited still. I am going for a wedding, and will be staying with family, so I will not be experience the tourist side of the island. What should I expect? |

you are going to have the best time of your life,the food,smells,beaches,the shopping,the culture,the friendly people,
and you are going to a wedding by family it is the best...you will be a tourist anyhow you look at it..have lots of fun..eat and enjoy all the foods..have bake and shark..hope you have a really great time.. |

well great food & friendly people an some nice beaches marcus bay, an go tobago .our culture is very unique to many other islands becuz of our cosmopolitan society. jus be cool blend in don't be all flashy an yes we do have a crime problem but don't make that get u to worried t&t is a blessed country an do enjoy urslef with ur family |

Expect an island that is exciting and festive. Trinidad is a place where you cannot possibly be bored. The food is fabulous, the music energetic and the people are colorful. |

I left trinidad , but grew up there 20 plus years, you will absolutely love it.Especially the friendly people and the food.I coming back this year too. I cant wait!!! Let the family carry you some where nice, there are many choices. Oh and don't be all flashy(dont wear expensive jewelery) cause crime was going up when i left. It's pretty easy to blend in, but you voice will be a give away...most trinis will love you accent. Just enjoy yourself.
My wife is american, she was shocked at number of darked skin(what you may call blacks) people first time she came...actually scared her, but you should not be.Trinis are a lot ,lot,lot more nicer, very little, or rather no racism (people may say otherwise) to deal with and she liked her time there.
If you traveling then have a vehicle air conditioned cause you may not like the heat...dress light. She love trinidad KFC, and you must try a bread called "doubles" and roti which my wife calls bean pies lol...she loves those. There are many breathless views, enjoy! |
