puerto rico for locals is mainly the beach day and night.
also museums, lots of museums and restaurants, food even in the streets u see people cooking up gin grills and little food wagons. in san juan its all about clubs and even quiet little relaxing pubs. no huge theme parks like disney or universal. its more natural parks, such as el yunque which is one of the biggest forests in the world. camuy caverns its very impressive with water flowing rivers inside caves under the ground, and also there is 2 or 3 water parks in the island and a zoo in mayaguez. one aquarium and lots of lighthouses in arecibo and around the island. locals usually shop, eat food all day and relax in the beach, lol. go around the island and explore its beauty.

The beaches there are great!! There's all kinds of things going on, I can't remember what beach it was (the islands small you can drive it in a day).. but they had this cool beach shack where you could get some food, and awesome rocks to climb.. there's alot of culture there, and alot of stuff to do.. locally that you won't be able to find on a website, just ask around!! It's been a while since I've been there so I can't give you exact places.

Well Aguadilla is a good place to go, beautiful beaches

GO TO LAURES!!!! Its amazing, has some of the best ice cream and it has the crazy flavors like Ajo and Arroz y habichela.

Also I would say just hook up with a local and go to some of the small sandwich shops out there.

Lets see what else is there, of course the Plaza de las Americas, Plaza de la Caribe are popular malls as is the one in Mayaguez.

When do you plan to go? During the summer there is the Festival de flores in Aibonito...and the Festival de Flamboyan in my hometown of Penuelas. In the winter there are so many christmas activities to go to...go travel and see the lights.

Of course there's El Yunque and the caves of Camuy. And a popular thing is to see the Breasts of Puerto Rico...Its along the highway to go from Ponce to San Juan. I don't remember exactly due to the fact I was half-asleep when I saw them last.

Hundreds of things to do in the old colony. As an islander it makes me happy when people visit here and fall in love with the place and realy have a good time. Our people are very friendly and hospitable and they cook sooo good. The beaches are beatiful, open all year long, actually most of them are open 24 hours a day. A group can camp out at most beaches for free, just clean up after yourselves please. I for one care to keep our beaches clean and wish more islanders would do so also as well as the government. The government does very little to nothing to enforce environmental laws, they are getting fined all the time for not following Federal environmental laws. They pay the fines out of the peoples taxes and after a little time they start to break the same laws again. Politicians are real crooks down here, I fear them more than the common criminal. Sorry about all that political b.s. Puerto Rico has the same commodities as any other state in the union, it is even more advanced than some of them. It is also a lot safer than most other Latin American countries that you may visit. Most of the killings that have been going on lately is drug related. So come to the island and have a lot of fun.
