"to the airport"? Emmmm I would suggest ordinary clothes. Worry about the beach later. Leave those clothes in your suitcase.

Jamaica is a casual, laid back country. Wear burmudas, preferably khaki/tan in color and a light weight shirt with a collar. Wear sandals or other casual footwear that's comfortable. Flip flops or zoris are good. If you have a wait before checking into your room, you'll be dressed appropriately for lounging by the pool until you can check in. Expect hot weather, so pack accordingly. Take lots of sunscreen and a hat.

I recently took a plane trip (first time since 9/11) and the "people in the know" all wore sandles because you have to take off your shoes to run them through the metal detectors.
Dress like who you are. If you try to dress like the locals, they'll perceive you as a poser.
If you dress like a tourist they'll see you as an easy mark.
Just be yourself and dress like you usually do when you're dressing casual.
This time of year it's probably warm there, so dress for warm weather.

Regular clothes. Make sure there comfortable. Wear a skirt, t-shirt ( wife beater ) and sandals cause when you land in Jamaica it's gonna be hot.
