I recommend Barbados.

This island has a lot to offer ranging from dining, snorkeling, jetskiing, nightlife, attractions.
So much to do, so much to see! The nightlife is GREAT! Check Harbour Lights (http://www.harbourlightsbarbados.com/ ), Boatyard (http://www.theboatyard.com/ ) and St. Lawrence Gap (http://www.thegapbarbados.com/ ),(http://www.barbados.org/stlaw.htm ).
St. Lawrence Gap has not only clubs, but restaurants, hotels, etc.. Such as The Ship Inn (http://www.shipinnbarbados.com/ ), Reggae Lounge, etc.!
Bridgetown, its capital, is known for duty-free shopping ranging from shoes to clothes to jewellery to books.
The beaches are fabulous, try Accra (known as Rockley Beach), Maxwell, Miami/Enterprise.
The people are friendly, some food are different (if you always want to try something different, you can try Fridays in Oistins (a town known for its fish market).
If interested, you can check out The Barbados Museum (http://www.barbmuse.org.bb/ ). Like I said, there's so much to see in this whole island. You can try some cruises such as Jolly Roger (http://www.tallshipscruises.com/ ).
You can also check out Atlantis Adventures (http://www.atlantisadventures.com/barbados.cfm ), Harrison's Cave (http://www.harrisonscave.com/ ), among other places, if this have sparked your interest, you can check out for more information below: |

I would suggest Jamaica, St. Lucia, or Barbados. All offer a good value for your dollar. Barbados is probably the most expensive of the three but still relatively cheap. All offer great beaches lots of activities, and plenty of nightlife and restaurants. |

The Bahamas is very commercialized, so if that's your thing, go for it. The beaches there are so-so in my opinion. The U.S. and British Virgin Islands are said to be gorgeous and would probably have more American style activities. The Dominican Republic has a lot of fun stuff to do and, from what I've heard, is beautiful. Aruba is nice too, although also commercialized, but I think they've got a decent nightlife. Tends to be breezy there. You could try a smaller, more off the map island like Grenada, but there might be less to do. Jamaica has a lot of boating and rafting activities, and is also quite beautiful, but don't go until they've cleaned up from Hurricane Dean. Cuba is known for its gorgeous beaches and hot nightlife, but the food is only average.
Good luck! |

i think that aruba is a little better than bahamas. the water is a little nicer in aruba. the land is more interesting. it's like the southwest cactus you see in the western united states mixed with the palm trees and the carribean water look.
you have legal gambling / night clubs in both places. i think aruba has a reputation for having better gambling ? i 'm not a gambler / have been in casinos but don't travel for them. i think there are more of them in aruba if that is your thing.
there is less hustling in aruba of tourists. in bahamas , someone is always trying to sell you something every second of the day. polite no is never accepted.
the food is comparable , but i think you can get a bit more variety in aruba.
you have plenty of watersports in either places. jetskis, boat rentals , water toys , banana boat rides, parasailing .
you will enjoy both ! there is not a bad decision to make here .. lol. enjoy. |
