These are just a few listings of the price variations there,

If you need reviews go here,it will tell you all about it.

If your buying a home any were else outside of the Dominican Rep,Jamaica & Dominica you real state prices are going to be higher,as those markets are more advance in there appreciation of land values and the price for your property will be more than what you would get in these three islands listed above.
Due to huge real estate developments.
Its like using 800,000 dollars to buy a Condo space in Washington DC,while that same amount can give you medium to large open space lot plus manshion size house in Virgina or Georgia,USA.
Look at this info here and see what am saying.

I am from Barbados, and I do a lot of travelling around these islands, and it really depends on what you are looking for, are you look at a natural island or one develop or you looking for a villa in an island between those?
Barbados is probable one of the most expensive, and it has allot of resale value, you are definitely sure and safe there, well develop, and modern place... Trinidad is probable the most stable in terms of economy... but not as beautiful as Barbados... St. Lucia is very nice... the housing there is much cheaper than Bim, however Tobago, you are sure to get a really good deal there... it's a very small island, but has a lot of value in terms of house sale... rental or resale... however!!! Grenada also a nice place to do business... look! each island has something that the other don't... but between Barbados and Tobago... Barbados being the high end... I am sure it might be costly... but you will definitely get good business from there, if you want more green landscape a world away from the world... Tobago is it |

Island homes are very expensive. You can do a search on homes in the Dominican Republic. An outsider just can't come in and buy realestate. There are fees associated with the purchase.
On St John in the Virgin islands,2 bedroom homes go for OVER a million dollars and a half.
The cheap real estate boom has passed.
Good Luck anyway) |

The Dominican Republic, has a variety of different areas..very rich, moderate and poor.
So you have your choice.
I'm listing some websites below to help in your search.
Usually the closer you are to the beach the more expensive the villa.
People do rent..buy or rent, that depends on how long you will be there and how much you want to spend.
You should compare, maybe you could rent first. There is rental with option to buy...and a Caribbean real estate agent would be able to help you. |

The Dominican Republic is probably the most economical when it comes to price. Cuba is off limits to American Citizens and most of the other islands are either too expensive (Anguilla, St. Barts, etc.) or too dangerous (Haiti) to buy land. |

Cuba or Porto Rico, unlikely you'd get many renters though |
